Caution, this day was quite a long and successful one, which means there's quite a few pictures to go with quite a lot of writing :goodvibes It's apparantly so long that it's had to be split into 2 posts because I over-ran the 25 image limit (by a long way). Oops...

Anyway:

First thing Sunday morning I awoke to the sounds of my alarm clock going off at about 7ish, singing the words "come a little closer... turn another page". I got up and dressed while the others went off to collect breakfast from the hut at the end of our trail.

Breakfast at the Davy Crockett is reasonable, although no where near as substantial or good as at any of the other hotels, especially as you don't get much of a say in what you get. Breakfast at the DCR this time round consisted of croissants (1 per person), brioche (1 per person), 1 full length baguette (I believe the size and number of this also depends on the number of people) cartons of minute maid orange juice (guess what... 1 per person :) ) and 1 decent sized carton of mik (optional). You also get a small selection of butter and jams to put on your breakfast. It is, of course, posible to buy something different at the shop and have that for breakfast instead / as well, but we never bother doing this apart from bringing over some best of both bread, anchor butter and a toaster.

After breakfast, we loaded up the car and headed off to the parks. We parked back in winnie the pooh and walked straight to the Disneyland park, so we got there for about 9ish.

First ride was (as usual) Buzz, followed by Orbitron. We then took a small detour to see a certain minor discoveryland detail for ourselves (see below to see where we went. The person who was responsible for our detour knows who she is :rotfl: )

After the minor detour "enforced" upon us by an unnamed DISer *cough* Hildasmuriel *cough*, we headed over to the studios to attempt to join the crush for crush.

Unfortunately, we were too late and they had already let people into the park by the time we got there, so there was already a queue long enough to hold about 90 minutes worth of people. Needless to say, we decided to give Crush's a miss this time.

Instead, we had a casual wander round the studios and went for some more character spotting. This time, we got to see Mickey (again), and Emile.

After visiting our new character friends, we paid a visit to Cars, Flying carpets and the tram tour.

After these, we wandered out towards the exit as there was nothing else that we wanted to do and it was edging towards 12:30 when we had a lunch reservation at the steakhouse in the village for Sunday brunch. On the way out, there were more characters gathered in the courtyard by the entrance, so we got to meet both Chip and Dale before they left, after which we followed suit and headed towards the village.

At this point, we had about 1/2 hour or so to spare before lunch, so we popped into the shops in the village to have a look around.

We then headed down towards the hotels for a brief walk around the lake. On the way past the Rainforest cafe, we got held up briefly sitting and staring out the large crocodile outside, before walking round to the new york.

After our brief walk, we turned back round and went into the steakhouse. We were greeted there with a glass of champagne and were then shown to our table where we enjoyed another very good meal. There were less characters here than at Inventions, but we still got to meet Goofy, Donald and Pluto.

After another enjoyable and filling buffet meal, we headed back to the Disneyland park, where we started by travelling into Discoveryland. We went for a quite walk around the Nautilus, then decided it was time to go on Autopia.

After Autopia, we headed to the very far opposite end of the park and into Frontierland. We picked up a ride time for BTM (the disabled queue for BTM works a lot like fastpass as you have to pick up a time from the entrance, then come back at that time, although the queue is shorter than the fastpass one and is found through the exit). To kill the time waiting for our BTM time, we had another ride on PM. We then went on BTM which was as fun as ever, especially from the back (which is where disabled guests are always seated, even though it's the most forceful seat. Go figure - I'm not complaining!). It was good to be able to actually ride BTM this time round, as it was closed for a rehab when we last visited back in January.

We then headed round towards Fantasyland. On the way, I noticed that the keel boats were running which none of us had ridden before.

Once I got back from my trip on the keel boats (I actually preferred these over the Molly Brown as they're able to get that little bit closer to the scenery), we carried on towards Fantasyland. Once in Fantasyland, we slowly worked our way through almost the entire land, riding Snow White, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, the Tea Cups, Casey Junior, Storybook land , IASW and Dumbo.

After all those rides, we decided that he wanted to go and visit the dragon under the castle, followed by walking up through the castle and around the balcony.

After our mammoth Fantasyland session, time was getting on so we headed round to Adventureland. We took another ride around POTC, then headed towards main street as it was fast approaching OUAD parade time. We took up our new usual spot in front of City Hall and watched the parade, then headed back up Main street for dinner at Walt's.

We were lucky enough to get given a window table in Walts which was nice, even if the parade had finished as it provided a nice view to look at while waiting for and eating our meals.

We were slightly disappointed with Walt's although we'd probably go back again at some point, just maybe not next time or every time.

After Walt's we headed in a couple of shops on Main Street, then walked up towards the disabled parade spot near the castle. Once there, we staked our spot on the kerb to watch Fantillusions again, which we enjoyed as usual.

After Fantillusions, the crowds all swarmed up towards the area which we were in (the disabled ropes are removed after Fantillusions, so it becomes a bit of a free for all). I stayed and watched the fireworks again, from a position which was about as far forward as you can get, with no trees or similar in the way. Fantastic!

Once the fireworks were over, I finally headed back to the car after an extremely long 14 hour day at the parks and we then drove back to our cabin to rest up ready for the next day, which was to be at Parc Asterix.

great report, really enjoyed it. fab photos!

What a great report and some fabulous pictures.

I thought the guy in the Mickey photo was a CM and halfway through I was saying 'That CM seems to be following them!' :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Hehe, no, that be me. I often get charged with the task of taking DB to the characters, but some characters seem to focus on individual people / children so I just stand aside and let DB have them to himself, as was the case in that Mickey picture :thumbsup2

Always wondered what Park Asterix was like, we've never been. Are you allowed to report on that day as well on this forum??? Perhaps just a small one :thumbsup2

I will be writing a full length report on Parc Asterix over the next few days, although University Coursework may start getting in the way sooner than I'd hoped.

I'm sure Cyrano, Ware bears and Bexx will let me do this - people often write about trips to Paris city centre while they've been away, and in fact far less DLP related things than that.

At the very worst, I'll just have to start the title with OT.

A busy day with fab photos:thumbsup2

Great to see such detailed photos, and I'd be interested to hear about Parc Asterix too.

What a fabulous day!! Loved all your pictures!! I'm well jealous your DB got to meet Chip and Dale- I looooove them!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

great photos, the ones of the fireworks are amazing

Glad you like them. I was quite pleased with how well the photos considering it's only a cheap (< £100) digital camera, plus I don't take photos very often and certainly haven't run them through any special software (hence the "noise" on the night time photos).

What a fantastic, fun-filled day (just the sort I like to read about) - love your pictures too, I've just been sorting through all ours and to my surprise I managed to capture a few good firework ones as well.

What didnt you like about Walts if you dont mind me asking?

It was nice enough, but it just wasn't quite as good as we were expecting I guess.

We didn't feel that there was a huge amount of choice, so it probably wouldn't have taken many trips before we were ordering the same thing again, because we'd run out of things that took our fancy.

I can fully see why other people really enjoy it, we just kind of felt a bit let down more than anything.

DB was also being a bit of a pain, which makes any meal seem worse than it is. We'd probably try it again at some point though, because it wasn't a bad meal, it just wasn't a great meal if you get what I mean.

What a great report & am loving the pictures too!!

Off to read Day 1 now lol (yes, I'm working backwards lol).

Glad you had such a fun filled day and you got to see some pigeons. ;)
