I just had to. Just had to! I've never grown a lima bean in my life and I LOVE them!!!


Any tips you'd care to share???

Did you plant pole lima beans? I have a friend who does that regularly and she gets good crops. She lived in NJ and now she lives in NC.

Good luck! If you have rabbits in your area, they may munch on the plants before you get any lima beans.

No ewwws from me, either, Gina! I absolutely love lima beans and pinto beans. A bowl of beans and a hunk of Jiffy cornbread....Heaven!!

I did take a bag of pinto beans, poke holes all over the back yard where I'm trying to improve the grass, and drop in beans. This was just a plain bag of grocery store beans. I was planting them just for the nitrogen they provide. A great many came up with no extra care, and are mowed with the grass. I figure it's a cheap way to add some organic matter.
