I am so embarrassed-but I think we goofed on terms for our BCV purchase. Sorry this is long...BUT...Can anyone help?

We purchased 210 pts BCV MARCH Use Year. We also took 7 free nights incentive instead of $5 off/pt.

Now that we are on our way to get these papers notarized, we found a problem...

We can only travel in late June for next few years. Our guide (Mary) said to use free nites in June 2003 (can't use ANYTHING this yr because BCV opens AFTER this year's trip-staying in CBR-2 rooms-good rate but wish something from DVC purchase could be applied!). Also, she said to bank THIS year's 210 pts. Sounded good at the time-we thought we could save the pts to have 420 in 2004 to use for 2-br in 2004.

But now we realize we'll have to use BOTH 7 free night AND 210 pts in June 2003. We probably can't stay that long. (I know-it IS a 'happy' problem and and I don't mean to complain.)

Now we think we should change pkge...Same purchase price, but take $5 off/pt incentive. Forget the free nights. Use difference in $$$ to buy 15 more pts (for total of 225). Use 225 pts for June 2003 trip. What do you all think? Will my guide do this? Will she hate us? Don't want to get off on the wrong foot...

Thanks for listening!

I think you should try. I am not sure what the logistics will be, but you should call your salesman(I refuse to call them guides) first thing this morning.

The extra 15 points will last forever, well forty years, unless you want to give the free nights to a friend, you have no other use for them.

Be careful, your first stay in a two bedroom could cause problems. We had a similar situation. We had 460 points for our first trip due to banking our first allotment. We gat a Grand Villa at OKW. We immidiately realized that we were going to need a Grand Villa for 12 nights every year, this forced us to add on 200 points during our first stay.

Call your guide, they should be able to send you a new contract and transfer your deposit to the new contract.

Let us know what they say.

I am pretty sure I read here on the board where someone else changed their mind after the paperwork arrived and everything was fine, they just send them new paperwork.

I changed the contract when we purchased in 1997- just called my guide and said please give me back the points I sold back and I will send you the additional money - actually had her put it on a credit card. She said okay and just sent some additional paperwork. We had done the original papers while at Disney the week before. Your situation is just the opposite but why not give it a try. Good luck.

Don't worry! Call your guide... I did the same thing - I originally got 200 points, and then when I found out I could get 7 free nights instead of just 5 if I bought 210 points, I called Tony, and he sent out new paperwork to me in less than a week. Deposit got transferred to it too! Easy enough! :)

(No, we didn't get another backpack and litho, though... ) :)

You can definitely change- you have 15 days or so after signing the contract to back out or change and you haven't even signed it yet. I think there is some confusion because you CAN use your free night stay in June- you just can't use your DVC points. That's why the incentive was offered. So check with your guide, but provided space is available you could use your free stay in June and bank your points to next year. I believe you can book your free stay 2 weeks after you send in the contract and deposit.

We did it last year when we added on 200 BW points. The FedEX arrived then my wife read on THESE boards they were lowering the interest rate that week. I called my guide to change it, and he said fine, just throw out the papers and he would send me another one with the lower rate that week. These boards saved me quite a bit. You would think our guide would have called to let me know of the rate change. He also didn't tell us about the Lottery to buy the Boardwalk points that became available last year. We found that out here also.

We too changed our mind after recieving the package. We got our original package in the first week of Sept 2001. Then 9/11 and we panicked and cancelled. Our guide(Linda) was wonderful and put everything on hold until we called her back in November to make the purchase. She sent out a whole new package ( gifts and all) Changes happen all the time, Disney is used to it and very understanding. Call your Guide!

OK! Here's what we decided to do...

Dh suggested..."why not just keep the 7 free nights for our family trip in June 2003, and then FORCE yourself to take a second trip later using the 210 pts". WHAT A TYRANT! Can you imagine forcing me to go to WDW twice in one year!!! Heeheehee!

This hadn't occurred to me cause he'll only go in June (we drive from NJ)-he won't fly. To take a shorter trip during school year, I'll have to fly-(I'm in sales...I try to sell History to high school kids every day. LOL!) I'm not crazy about flying either, but I think I'll do it now! And DS is THRILLED with Dad's idea, cause he might take a friend.

Guess I have to get used to indulging myself now that we are in DVC. OH HAPPY DAY! Annual passports...here we come!

So, if I may...thanks, 'NEIGHBORS', for your ideas and support. This is one great neighborhood!

:D :D :D
