Hi,

I'm going to be in WDW this Saturday (9/17) thru 9/25, and just recently noticed in my "Unofficial Guide to WDW" that the crowd levels for 9/22 thru 9/28 are rated an 8 - fairly heavy. Does anyone know if this is true, or could it be a mis-print? I thought that September was usually pretty quiet at the parks. (The rest of the month is rated a 3, which is pretty light). I originally chose this timeframe because I don't do well in crowds. Any info on this would be greatly appreicated. Thanks!

We normally go during that time frame and have never experienced more than a 10 minute wait for any ride and most often just walk right on. Have an awesome time and stay cool!!!

Hi StitchAMoo, We will be there at the same time, 9/17 through 9/24. According to the website the week is basically 6's with a couple of 5's. I believe there was some discussion that there were misprinted books. UG has also changed its rating system since the book came out. Now the numbers represent what the expected wait time for major attractions will be at the peak times of the day. So a 6 means a 60 minute wait at major stuff in the afternoon. That being said I have seen quite a few posts from people saying that they just got back and the parks are a little more crowded but most everything was a walk-on or 10 minute wait. I think at this point all we can do is hope for the best.

We`ll be there 9/23 -9/28. The crowd blog at touringplans.com has crowds listed at 4 for most of our stay and no higher than 6. I`ve never experienced big crowds in Sept. :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

StitchaMoo,

You are going at one of my favorite times of year in terms of crowds. I am not a very crowd-oriented person and have found crowds to be pretty light at that time of year. You need to be somewhat careful of the Jewish Holidays as crowds pick up a little then, however, overall, I have found crowds to be pretty manageable that time of year.

Thanks to everyone who replied...you've definitely set my mind at ease! I usually only venture to Disney in early December or in January (avoiding the Christmas holiday), and crowds are always really light...was afraid I made a mistake venturing out of my usual timeframe this time. Thanks again.

Went that week in Sept in '00, the crowds were the lightest I've ever experienced. So light we were able to walk on to ToT 20 times in a row (not exaggerating). :teeth:

We are leaving in 2 days and hoping for light crowds

leaving in 9 sleeps hoping for light crowds!
in Spet ' 03 we went on the haunted house 5 times in a row I thought that was good!

The 8's are typos. Sorry about that. We didn't perfect cut-n-paste until the 2006 edition. The corrected crowd calendar is on our website, and it's freely available.

Good luck on your trip!

Sincerely,

Len Testa

Whew! I was getting nervous there for a minute :earseek:
