How heavenly? We love to stay at Beach Club and we want to see the re-modeled rooms. But we might pick the Swan. Are the beds worth it?

The beds are dangerously heavenly. I am usually the one trying to get everyone up and out early, but I find it very difficult to get out of bed at the Swan! The beds have become one of my favorite WDW "attractions".

Dr.Mickey,
I must tell you, the beds are as heavenly as everyone says and then some. We stayed in a newly renovated room last December, and the beds were amazing. I especially loved the comforters that were on the beds. They were so heavy and fluffy.
I would stay at the Swan again in a second. You just can't compare it to any of the moderates. We made the mistake last year of staying at the Swan for 4 days, then at CSR for 4 days. We were really spoiled by the beds at the Swan. It made the rooms at CSR seem really bad. Don't get me wrong, I love CSR, especially Pepper Market and the pool area with the big pyramid and all, but the rooms at the Swan were just soooooo luxurious. I liked the Swan even better than the Grand Floridian. Also, the Swan's location is great too. We were able to walk to Epcot and MGM. We stay at WL next month for the first time. We'll see how it compares with the heavenly beds!

I just got back from staying at a renovated room at the Dolphin, and I too can vouch for these beds. They are truly wonderful! The comforters are thick and the bed has just the right ratio of soft/firm. I'm building a house in the next few months, and I will be calling the Dolphin to see where I can get these mattresses.

Slapster......we own a furniture store and carry Heavenly mattresses. ...........they really are comfortable!! You could call some furniture stores near you and see if they carry them .

LET ME TELL YOU....

We've been to WDW 25-30 times and even stayed at the S/D almost 10 times.

Last month we stayed at the Swan in a studio king, can I just say I DON'T know how I can ever stay at any other resort again, but the SWAN!! after sleeping in that bed!!

I have lots of trouble sleeping at WDW. Maybe because I'm wired by the end of the day or because the humidity in the room is a bit high. I am so used to waking up several times a night when I am at WDW and then have a hard time falling back to sleep.

Well the heavenly bed didn't stop me from waking during the night although it was only a few times, BUT I WOULD FALL RIGHT back to sleep! NOW I NEED A BED LIKE THAT AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HEAVENLY BEDS...once you sleep in one, you're spoiled FOREVER!:p :p

We are at the Swan now and DH is snoozing in our heavenly king size bed after playing golf. I just hope that I can get him out of bed to spend the eve in Epcot. We have a water bed at home so every time we travel my back always hurts. This is the first time that a hotel bed has NOT bothered me. If they weren't so expensive I would be tempted to trade the water bed in on one. :D We will be staying here or at the Dolphin next year when we come too. Staff is very gracious and you can't beat the location for the price. :D

The Dolphin is being renovated and adding Heavenly Beds, along with much more attrative decor. The Dolphin is a bit cheaper than the Swan. If you want to stay there, make your reservations soon before the prices go up. They are up to the 7th floor or so with renovations, and are scheduled to be completely done in August, but it sounds like a lot of people on the boards are able to get renovated rooms when requested.

I have never stayed at the S/D, however, the description of these beds sounds so comfortable! I wish WDW would look into replacing their beds with this type. Oh well, I will be at BWV next May and I will not expect that a change will take place by that time.:)

I know this is just repeating what a lot of people have said, but the beds really are that good.

The best thing about having them in WDW is that you can have less hours of sleep and STILL feel like you had a longer sleep.

Also, they're great for kids. It would only take our DD (4) about 5 minutes to fall asleep each night.

They are truly heavenly and are the best part of the Swan.

YES!!!! They are that good. The bad thing is that you never want to get out of them!:earseek:

We are just back from the Boardwalk Inn (wonderful time). However, after reading this board, I wish I had tried the Swan. My question: is "Heavenly mattress" a brand name? I see where the Westin Hotel chain sales such mattresses. Are they the same?

Having stayed in a renovated Dolphin room and the Swan I can state that the beds at the Dolphin are NOT as nice as the Swan beds. They don't have as many layers of bedding for one thing at the Dolphin. Shearton even calls them something else (which I can't remember)

the heavenly bed AND the beds at the loews hotels at Universal are FAR SUPERIOR to any of the Disney resorts. For a good nights sleep - one of those hotels is the way to go.

We just returned from WDW, and since I stayed at about
6 different hotels while there for two weeks, I can give good advice on this subject.

I am a "princess in a pea" sleeper, and the beds at the Swan
were very nice, (especially while napping on top of the fluffy comforter, however, white and kids can be a bit dicerning).
I will say, however, that the bed had a tendency to "untuck and bunch" around the feet at night. I tend to like VERY tightly fitted bottom sheets. Our nights sleep were good though.

By contrast, I actually slept best on the bed at the Beach Club.
(I don't know why, but the rooms were also larger, and well layed out with fans above). The Animal Kingdom bed was ok, but my boys kept hitting their feet on end of the bed board. (No bottom bed board at Swan or Beach Club). The worst nights sleep were at the Ft. Wilderness Cabins. (The cabins were great, and I loved the cedar smell of the rooms, but they NEED to change mattresses there. My arms even fell asleep while on the Murphy Bed, and my kids hated the bunk beds as the top bunk is not high enough for someone (age 10) to sit up in bed (in bottom bunk) in morning without hitting their head.

So if you are looking, and the price is right, the Swan is definitely worth it. (Queen beds too vs. the smaller Double ones at the Dolphin) The Swan also seems alot less crowded than the Dolphin where my parents were staying - just a side note.

Thought I'd add my two cents.

While we haven't stayed at the Swan yet, we have slept in the Heavenly Beds at a Westin. And they are really wonderful. Best bed we’ve ever slept on in any hotel. I look forward to our stays at a Westin.

I have arthritis, and I need a very comfortable bed in order to sleep well. Before we made our Disney plans (for Nov 2004) I called Disney Guest Services. I spent 30 minutes on the phone, while this dedicated representative called various resorts and inquired about the mattresses. And in the end, I was told that all the Disney operated resorts use the same mattresses.

So that sealed our decision to make reservations at the Swan for our upcoming trip.

Sleep well!

Well all I can say is this. We stayed at the Swan Thanksgiving week and for the first time I didn't look forward to coming home to MY bed.

In fact, I'm glad that vcunning posted the link to Westin's heavenly catalog website so I know how to get one for myself!
