In about 3 weeks we are heading to WDW with our 4 year old and 1 year old. My 1 year old has had a slow transition to adult food due to health problems in the last year. So we have been moving through the Gerber Stages. She is currently eating Gerber Graduates for Toddlers (more wet, easier to slide down). These require 20-30 seconds in the microwave. Aside from in my resort food court, where can I heat these up at Disney? Babycenters? And in restaurants, if the containers are sealed, would they be willing to heat them up for us? Thanks for the help! The last time we went to Disney, my son was long past this point.

Baby Centers have changing tables, rockers. Little tables for siblings too. I saw in pictures they sell everything you need from diapers to food too. Also saw microwave too!:thumbsup2

Yes, baby centers. I don't think restaurants will do it, due to some safety issues with them taking the food from you and bringing it back ( I can't remember exactly the reason), but they should be able to bring you a cup or bowl of hot water to get the food warmer if that would help.

Baby centers will be your best bet. I would hop in one , heat up and feed her there while your son watches the tv in there or plays or is off with another adult. Then head off for your meal. I would just make sure to have snacks and distraction items (small toy, coloring etc) for your daughter while the rest of the family eats! Just my two cents!

can not say for sure about Disney but we can not heat outside food at small park i work at. this is true for all outside food not just baby food. we can only offer a cup of hot water.

Well, I've never heated a jar of baby food in my life - always room temperature (same with bottles). Can you try to make them cooler before the trip?

These aren't jars of baby food. They are meals designed to be microwaved. Think microwaveable soup containers from Campbells. That's the general idea of them. I wouldn't bother to heat up baby food jars as she ate them cold or at room temperature.

Asking for a cup of hot water and adding a little to the meal sounds like the option for restaurants. Alternatively, you could order some soup or side of cooked veggies.

Waitstaff can not touch your babyfood containers. Restaurant can't be responsible for contaminates that might enter the kitchen area via your containers. Flip side, waitstaff isn't responsible for any contaminants that were already present in your babyfood. Awkward wording! Hope that made sense.

I would just visit the babycare center prior to your meal. They have highchairs where you can feed you baby there too or you could just heat it up and take it with you to your meal. If it is an ADR, you may have to wait to be seated. It might be easier just to feed the baby at the babycare center.

Have you tried just real food? Like pasta, veggies, breads, etc? Maybe you could look at the menu's of the places you are going beforehand and if a meal you or your husband are interested in has the option for a side of carrots - you could do that...or a side of macaroni...etc. Then just give her that instead?

Having had a baby who was so used to warm milk and refused to drink it cool while we were on vacation... and having had to waste a lot of time trying to figure out how to warm her milk...I'd suggest you take the next 3 weeks and wean your 1 year old onto cool food. I know what type of food you are talking about and they are all pre cooked...they do not *need* to be heated to be eaten.

My son is the same way and actually has serious texture issues, so I understand!

Warm up the food in the family center, but it won't hurt to ask at the restaurant. If its sealed, I can not imagine them saying no. I've worked in restaurants and we would never say no to that.

We have luck with oatmeal packages and getting hot water for kiosks. It's a great dinner because of the fiber and protein. I always add some puréed baby food as well.

Good luck! It will be very easy to accommodate your child, don't worry!!

I think the wait staff will say no:sad1:. I would try to slowly heat them less until she is eating them room temp. If you are out and about the parks, "room temp" will be pretty warm anyway!

I went to disney with my then 7 month old and again when he was 15 months old. Baby care centers have microwaves and equipment to heat up bottles. You can even feed your child there before you go to the restaurants.
However restaurants are not allowed to warm up your baby food for you. I brought a warming plate where you add hot water on the bottom and it warms up your baby food. I just asked for a cup of hot water and poured it into the plate in the washroom. You can find it on http://www.amazon.com/green-sprouts-Warming-Plate-Sage/dp/B002F9MUX4
However, I didn't even end up using it that much. My son didn't mind eating it room temp most of the time.
