Heating pad

Hey guys, I am now the lucky person with degenerative disc disease along with two other back issues and use a heating pad daily. I know I can't bring one from home but have heard awhile ago that you can ask for one. Anyone know about it it? Do I request it under special requests? Thanks for any help!

Not really the answer you need BUT my niece caught a tummy bug (maybe Novo) this week in Venice. I had one of those flat pack water bottles by Platypus, and filled it with hot water from the sink (or you could use the hot water up by the soda machine). I wrapped it in a kitchen towel I had brought for picnics and it did the trick. Just in case . .

Why can't you bring a heating pad from home? I have taken mine to Disney several times.

They are not allowed on Disney Cruise Line

On the Wish, we were able to check out a heating pad from Guest Services. They had my wife sign for it with a promise to return or be charged.

I have used one of the disposable Thermacare heat wraps onboard. Not electric, it’s a chemical reaction type. They make them for backs/hips and have an adjustable “belt’ so you can wear it under your clothes.

OMG! I've been on 15 Disney cruises and have always packed a heating pad for my back. I did not know it was contraband! I won't bring it anymore. It was never flagged.

Depending on how large you need it to be, you can also take the refreezable/reheatable ice/heat packs and put it into a bucket of hot water. I have knee problems which sometimes need to be alternately heated and cooled and that's what I'll use. I will use the ice bucket to heat or cool the pack. If you can find a small hot water bottle that will also work great. I used to use those at night when I didn't want to have a heating pad turned on overnight. Hot water from the tap was always sufficient.

Not sure if it is actually allowed, but my wife has taken a cordless heading pad that charges via a USB cable. This was on another cruise line. We made no attempt to conceal it, and it was not confiscated

You can contact Disney's Special Services department and ask them (407) 566-3602. My wife needed to store freezer packs and they were able to arrange it so that the onboard guest services was aware of her needs before we boarded.

I would take some icy hot Max strength lidocaine 4% +menthol 1% pads. activene ointment works really well and we have that on prime subscribe. We also carry Advil, stop pain packets (easy to use at airport) and a Bob and Brad Q2 mini massage gun (if going to WDW - use on muscle only; not spine or bones).
