:sad2: I can't believe this!! This is more of a shock than the whole Jennifer Brad split. When ever you see the two of them together they seem like they are so in love. They are always saying how great things are, and see like they really do care for each other. I just heard Heather L. on a radio show saying how great things were, etc, etc. I can't believe that they just announced they are splitting up! THis is one couple I thought would last.

Take a look at the last sentence in this story. Hello? What's up with that?

Sambora Blindsided by Locklear's Divorce Announcement
Bon Jovi Guitarist Calls Split 'Untrue' After Actress Announces Breakup
WASHINGTON, Feb. 2, 2006 — - Heather Locklear announced she had filed for divorce Thursday evening -- but it was news to her husband, rocker Richie Sambora.

More than an hour after Locklear's publicist spread the word that their 11-year-marriage was kaput, the Bon Jovi guitarist told ABC News Radio in an exclusive interview that things were fine at home.

"It's completely untrue," he insisted, adding that he had Valentine's Day plans with his wife.

Nevertheless, the "Spin City" actress had already set the legal wheels in motion, and her spokeswoman, CeCe York, was spreading the word.

"After 10 years of marriage, Heather Locklear has filed for divorce from Richie Sambora," the rep said in a statement hours earlier. "This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time."

The message was apparently not delivered to the rocker, who has been touring recently, and spoke with ABC shortly before a show at Washington's MCI Center.

Even when confronted with the report, which had then hit the news wires, he spoke lovingly of Locklear.

"I'm going home," said Sambora, who says that Locklear sometimes joins him when he's touring.

"Heather was just up for our anniversary and that was Dec. 15 … I was home for like two and a half weeks in Christmas and I have a month off in March, so it's going to be good."

'The Real Story Is That There Is No Story'
Sambora, 46, is a founding member of Bon Jovi. Locklear, his 44-year-old wife is one of TV's most familiar faces, having gained fame in the early 1980s as sexy Sammy Jo Dean Carrington on "Dynasty." She's also been a regular on "T.J. Hooker," "Melrose Place" and "Spin City." She recently appeared in the film, "The Perfect Man."

Locklear was previously married to rock star Tommy Lee. They divorced after seven years in 1993.

Sambora and Locklear -- who have an 8-year-old daughter -- had been hounded by rumors of a breakup. After tabloid reports that they were fighting over a second child, they issued a joint statement to the New York Daily News in December, stating, "The real story is that there is no story. The truth is that after 11 years together, we are still happily married. Boring but true."

In the interview this evening, Sambora was asked if there were any more kids in his future.

"I wish," he said. "I mean it just gets to the point where women just go, 'I don't want to go through that again.' For us it's easy -- we point and shoot."

While fatherhood is demanding, Sambora said he enjoys it. "At the end of it, it's worth it, yeah, but I mean, really, it's a good two years of your life, you know, for each kid."

I'm thinking that sometimes the spoken word does not translate so well into the written word, especially when you have a not-so-talented writer doing said translating.

That's what I really want to think here.

I believe the gist of that was that parenting is just most demanding during the first 2 years. With diapers and the whole baby-thing.

Still not such a smart attitude, but not too far-fetched for some guys to think that way. And remember that his daughter is only 8 and largely raised by people other than himself. He still has some learning to do.

Yup, that's the one! Yes, first few years can be a difficult adjustment, but parenting is a full time job forever.

Yeah, I took it to mean that the first 2 years are "all consuming". That part is definitely true.

Wow. As much as I think every star will split sooner or later, I'm surprised at this one.

Just like I was suprised at Chad Lowe and Hillary Swank, just like I was surprised at Valerie Bertanelli (sp?) and Eddie Van Halen, just like I was surprised at Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston...

I was a little disappointed to. It's too bad. I was also very surprised and disappointed by Valerie Bertinelli and Eddie VanHalen's pending divorce, after 24 years of marriage! :sad2:

I honestly don't see why almost every celebrity marriage falls to pieces. Lots of people have high profile, high stress jobs, but manage to hold their marriages together.

Is it temptation? We all have that too. You simply don't put yourself in its path. Is it competition? That's really sad.

What is it?

Next we'll hear about Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.
