I love pirate mickey and I would be shoving my girls out of the way to get a picture with jack sparrow! that's so cute how he's eyeing up her pirate necklace. did they make her promise not to tell anyone where she got it? they told Hannah it was a secret when we did pirates league. she still won't answer us when we ask her! I loved the pirate league experience!

too bad you missed the fireworks, but I can understand. we still haven't really seen fireworks there with the girls...when they're tired, you just can't push them.

Willow is just so cute in all of her outfits! Seems like the mermaid swimsuit is a big hit. It always amazes me how kids can made friends so fast.

Guess what, Roni, you were not the only ones who threw in the towel on Pirate night.
We had dinner at Palo and were just too lazy to drag ourselves up to the party again, so we grabbed some drinks and sat out on the veranda and were able to watch the fireworks from the comfort of our veranda - did I mention we had a drink too.

And may I add that pirate Willow is adoreable and so are your shirts.

I really enjoyed your pirate night updates! We went to Remy that night, so missed out on most of the festivities (though DD did manage to stay up for the fireworks part!) - I wish we'd seen the character show, I think the POTC show was a little bit scary for her!

Nothing like soft serve ice cream by the pool! Looks like a nice morning. And that lunch looks delicious - seafood risotto sounds so good!

I love seeing the pictures of all the Disney art around the ship. It's really beautiful. I wish I could afford to decorate my home like that! Sorry Planes was a disappointment. I haven't seen it and don't really have any desire to, and your experience just cements that further for me!

Pirates night looks so awesome! And doing Pirates League that night is perfect. I love the fact that Willow is all done up like a pirate but still wearing a Princess dress! The food, as usual, looks great - especially that meringue dessert they brought you. I'm sorry you didn't get the chance to see the fireworks - that's a bit of a bummer! It's very cool that Disney even does fireworks out at sea, I didn't realize they did that.

I know! I actually thought the same thing when I was doing the update - I guess I don't have any photos??? I looked pretty horrible though, so it's probably for the best.

She has the first and second ones, I think. She has watched the first one a lot (although not for a while). She definitely knows and enjoys Captain Jack. Actually, I'm pretty sure that she and Maddie were talking about Captain Jack for some reason the other night!

I don't think they did the secret thing on the ship. Captain Jack was amazing with Willow - he was really after that gold piece.

It's true. But it sure was disappointing after a week in WDW with no fireworks. I hate to post a spoiler, but I will say that we definitely did better at DLR.

Thanks! Getting those pictures was one of my biggest must-do's of the trip, so I was VERY happy to accomplish it.

So, we are going to drive the Oregon and California coast and spend time at DLR this summer. And then next summer, we are going to repeat our 2013 trip - i.e., WDW followed by the Fantasy. I wanted to book the other itinerary on the Fantasy, but in order to coordinate things the way we needed to in order to make this trip a trip to end all trips, we ended up on the same itinerary as last time. Of course, that doesn't really matter since we didn't leave the ship last time anyway!

The self-serve soft-serve ice cream is one of the best things on the ship!

I believe that it is still true that DCL is the only cruise line that does fireworks at sea. I was really looking forward to it. I will absolutely make it happen in 2015!

I had no trouble booking the Pirates League - I made our reservations the first day that I could, but there were lots of times to choose from. I do not remember opening time. Sorry.

More Swimming and a Lost Willow!​

I think we slept in today because my pictures don’t have us leaving for breakfast until almost 10:00! We grabbed some quick chow at Cabanas.

As soon as we had had a quick bite to eat, we headed back to the stateroom so Willow could change for swimming. This was an at-sea day, so I had not initially thought we would be swimming since the ship would be much more crowded. But Willow really wanted to swim, and I was finding that it was incredibly pleasant and relaxing to read a book and/or watch funnel vision from the comfort of a lounger on the pool deck.

The predicted “overcast” skies were looking a lot better than what one might expect!

​

Today, I tried out a lounger right below the Funnel Vision. Despite not being able to view the movie, I really enjoyed this spot - a clear view of Willow in the pool and a little shade.

Willow was loving the pool time as always.

​

At some point, she went over to slide down the Mickey slide.

​

And then it was right back to the Donald Pool.

​

As you can see, it was getting crazy-crowded in there, but Willow was still loving it, so we stuck around anyway.

​

At about 12:30, I zipped over to Flo’s and got some chicken nuggets for Willow to have for lunch by the pool.

​

Sometime after 1:00, we decided to leave the pool. Willow stopped off at the bathroom first. I took some pictures while I waited.

​

This is the self-serve ice cream area.

​

And then it felt like I had been waiting a really, really long time. So I wandered into the bathroom and called out for DD. Nothing. Um, I tried again. Nothing. I started to panic.

I started walking around the area near the bathrooms, trying not to panic, looking for any sign of DD. Nothing.

OMG.

I was really starting to panic now! I wandered over towards the other side where the quick-service locations were, scanning everywhere for a sign of DD. Nothing.



Finally, I spotted DD holding a CM’s hand and walking the pool deck looking for me. I have NEVER felt so relieved in my life! I knew that she couldn’t be far - it is a limited space given that it’s a ship! But still - it was terrifying! I was thrilled to know that she had been listening all these years when we have talked about what to do if you get lost at Disney - she immediately went to a CM with the proper CM name tag for help.

As far as how in the world we got separated . I guess the bathroom was too crowded, so she came out right after she went in and then didn’t see me so started looking around. We talked about how, in a situation like that, she needs to stay put if she doesn’t see me.

Not our best Disney moment for sure! But it all turned out okay.
