Heat, Headaches but So Much Fun! My June Birthday TR (Trip Wrap-Up 10/12)

Cutting in!!! Can't wait to hear all about your POP trip! Sorry about the headaches, that is NO fun in the sun! We'll be heading there soon. We requested a 70's near Classic Hall. Was your location near Classic Hall?:goodvibes

OOH - I'm getting excited!!:banana::woohoo:

I can't wait to officially begin! Hopefully tomorrow.

I didn't run into any either.

Such a bummer! I had my LGMH, but no DISers.

We were super close to Classic Hall. We were in the Play Doh building (that's what I call it) and we were overlooking the kiddie pool. It was perfect!

I can't believe my eyes right now. I have 880 views to my TR!!!! If anyone out there is lurking, please don't be shy. Come say hello! I promise, this TR will take off very soon. I'll try my best not to keep you waiting too long. I'd like to get an update (or 2) up tomorrow, so bear with me!

Day One
June 24th
Extremely early in the morning

Happy Birthday to me!!!! I found it very hard to sleep the night before the trip, but it was mostly due to the fact that I was so hot! We don't have a/c and it had been a very hot day. We had two fans going, but I just couldn't seem to cool down. Anyways....my alarm went off at 3:30am (yes, you did just read that) and I hopped out of bed and got into the shower. I woke Tony up around 4am and Madison got up around 4:15am. While I finished getting myself and Madison ready, Tony went to Tim Horton's (delish) to get us some bagels and such (much cheaper than the airport). My mom arrived to bring us to the airport around 5am. We quickly loaded up her car, did a last minute check to make sure we had everything, and then we were off! Upon arriving to the airport, there was no line at JetBlue (why would there be at 5:15am on a Wednesday?). We got our boarding passes, checked our luggage and made our way to the non-existent security line. We got to our gate by 5:30am. I know, we're always early, but we don't care! We all used to bathroom and they started boarding around 6:30am. Hooray!!! :yay:

Some pics of us waiting to board (don't mind our glasses; it was early)

Can't you just see the excitement on their faces!

Flying to Orlando

So beautiful!

We landed at MCO a bit after 9am (gotta love those direct flights!). After we rode the "monorail", we had to cross over to the other side of MCO so we could make our way down to ME. There was hardly anyone there! The first CM just directed us past her to line C and then another CM scanned us in. There were a few other families in our line waiting to board the bus.

Madison waiting in line to board our ME bus

We weren't in line long and we were seated on our ME bus by 9:45am. We shared a bus with the Swan & Dolphin, CBR, CSR and AKL. Wow! That was a lot of resorts! But, Pop was first so that was fine by me.

They seemed to alternate ME buses with cruise line buses

Here's our bus!

So excited!

As we made our way over to Pop, we got to watch the Disney video. Very cute! I couldn't take a pic of the WDW sign because we were in the middle of the bus. That's ok. I took a great one back in January. It didn't take too long until we saw this out our window:

We had arrived!!!

continued in next post....

Ooo! You just gave me an idea! I had been checking AirTran and Southwest out of Buffalo for our trip in October (Rochester is pricey for some reason, but Buffalo is too :( ) but I haven't checked JetBlue! DUH!

We hopped off of the bus, grabbed our carry-on bag from our lovely ME driver, and headed into Classic Hall. I had checked us in online and there was no line; just two other guests checking in at the counter. One family must have been having a problem, because they were up there forever! But, it didn't take too long for our turn. We were told that our room had yet to be cleaned, but all our requests had been met! Hooray! :cool1: We were asked if we wanted to use the mobile room ready notification and we of course said yes. We opted for the text message option. We were given our packet with our keys (no room number yet) and the CM gave me my birthday button! :yay: I was so excited about that. We made our way over to one of the seating areas to organize ourselves. We got our park bags all ready and put the things we didn't need into our carry-on bag. While I took Madison to the bathroom, Tony brought our bags to bell services. After we met back up, we went into Everything Pop. Madison bought herself lanyard at a TSMM pin. We then went outside to figure out what to do next.

We had barely sat down when I received a text message saying that our room was ready! No way! It had to be around 10:30am or so! So, off we went to check out our room (room 4463). We were in the Play Doh 60's bldg, on the 4th floor, but by the kiddie pool. I didn't care because we were the 3rd room in from the end, so it was nice and quiet. Here's some room/Pop pics:

I miss those Play doh animals

As we were checking out our room, we got a knock at the door. It was our luggage! No way! Well, everything except one bag (which had all my stuff in it), but the CM assured us that we would get it. He said it would probably be on the next trip in from MCO. I wasn't worried about it. We were getting pretty hungry, so we went down to the food court. There was hardly anyone there and it was the start of lunch time. Tony and I decided to split a pizza and grapes and Madison got chicken nuggets, french fries and jello. Everything was good and we felt much better after eating. We then decided to head off to DTD!! We made our way to the bus stops for the very first time. We took a seat on one of the benches in the shade, but we didn't have to wait long for the DTD bus. We were all so excited to ride our very first Disney bus!!!

Thanks for not lurking! :rotfl: I always wonder, do people check out my TR and not like it?

Ooo! You just gave me an idea! I had been checking AirTran and Southwest out of Buffalo for our trip in October (Rochester is pricey for some reason, but Buffalo is too :( ) but I haven't checked JetBlue! DUH!

We won't fly anything but JetBlue! No fees for your first checked bag per person, free UNLIMITED snacks and drinks (they have Dunkin Donuts coffee which my DH loves), and tv's at every seat! You should definately check it out.

Hey Meghan!! Awesome start to your TR! Love the pictures - especially Madison with her missing tooth!

I wish I could fly JetBlue, but they don't operate out of MSP as far as I can tell. We just got Southwest but it doesn't go direct to Orlando. I have been watching flights every day looking for a deal for December.

Sorry for the diversion! Now back to the TR!

Hey girl!! Lovin' those pictures!! The kids loved the pics of the Pop!!Gracie loved the pool!!! I loved the play doh stuff!!! Your cat looks like a little tiger!!!
did you say you had to cut out the Mickey heads? YIKES!! I might try to find some big Mickey head stickers!!!We aren't sure yet what we want to do!!:confused3

YAY! it's tarted. Sounds like you had good karma that morning. I can just feel yur excitement arriving to Pop. I feel the same way each time. I agree on the beds too. I have a real hard time with hotel beds, but the Pop ones have always been wonderful for me.

We were early risers too for our trip to the airport, so I totally know how you felt getting up before the roosters!

The last picture of Madison, I think while you were at the airport - OMG her eye lashes are so long and beautiful!!!!

Loved the pictures of Pop, never been there, but it looks like a cool resort.

We were at MK the day that you arrived - I'm checking to see if we cross any days (but my report is not up to the 24th yet!) We did head to DTD the first day we were there too for dinner.

Waiting for more....:thumbsup2

Yay!! You started....I can't wait to hear more!! Love the countdown...and I know the feeling about not wanting to throw it away...I was the same way about my December one, my DH asked about 2 months ago if he could finally throw it away...and I said yes, as long as I didn't know about it....I'm pretty sure it's gone!! :lmao: I just can't bring myself to do that!!!! LOL!!

I'm flying JetBlue out of Rochester for my trip in August. I live 15 minutes from the airport, so it's real easy! I always check the Buffalo & Syracuse airports though, they're only an hour away! The prices for airfare for our trip in October are ridiculous! No joke. JetBlue is running over $300! :scared1: Southwest isn't much better. Airtran is better, but then we have stops and the times are awful. We'd leave Rochester at 6am and wouldn't get in until 2! And then coming home we'd leave at 4 and wouldn't get in until after midnight. It's terrible. I'm thinking about flying Continental and Delta. They have stops, but the times are better. And I'd have to pay for a bag, but it'd only be one bag between my boyfriend and we could get a flight below $200! Usually if Rochester is terrible I check Buffalo and I can get a flight $100 better, not this time :sad2: (Though usually it's to Chicago, idk why, but it's insanely expensive to fly Rochester to Chicago, but not Buffalo to Chicago...weird.)

:scared: Sorry for the novel, I'm just stressed about the whole thing!!

I love the Pop pictures! That's where we're staying in October! :yay:
