Heard some FP kiosks were uncovered in MK today

You’re suggesting that people spending thousands of dollars should just shut up and accept that WDW is unpleasant if they choose to ride headliners .

Not true at all. We all complain about something. I've complained many times on these boards over the years. But I'm not talking about your average complainer who just doesn't like something Disney implemented and is voicing that dislike. I'm talking about the people who are on full on melt down mode, talk about how stressful the change is, contemplating cancelling their trip until Disney caters to their specific like, or are otherwise overly dramatic about the "what if's" of a certain feature coming back (or not coming back). There are people in this very thread who you'd think Disney had taken their first born.

The good thing for you is, you won’t be affected since you’re willing to skip all the popular rides.

I do? Out of 4 parks there are only 7 popular rides? I had no idea. I ride Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain numerous times each trip. Haunted Mansion? Can't get enough of it, again, every trip. Kilamanjaro Safaris? It's the first ride we do in AK followed by Everest, Dinosaur, Cali. Test Track, Frozen, Star Tours, RnR, The Great Movie Ride (when it was around). I had no idea all this time I was only doing the less popular rides. The lines at some of those would have sure had me to believe otherwise.

You listed several rides you have not ever ridden because of the lines. The problem is, there are many other rides that have lines just as long- so why is it you can ride the other rides I listed, whose lines rival the ones you listed? But, you're right that popular isn't the right word, let's change it to headliners. I've corrected it in my original post . You can parse the words, but it doesn't change the fact that there are a great many rides whose lines are as long as the ones you listed and have never done.

Of course there are over the top complainers, but that doesn't change your suggestion that if we don't want an unpleasant experience, we should just skip headliners and be happy with it. I am one of those debating whether to stick with our trip if they don't introduce a ride system. That's not over the top. The fact is, for many reasons. we will not stand in long lines for rides. We will not enjoy WDW, especially right now with no shows and no parades, without riding headliners. It's perfectly reasonable to make the decision that without what we consider a neccesity being in place, to put off our trip. And it's perfectly reasonable to think that by now, with them rapidly increasing capacity as they have, they should have had a plan in place to handle the crowd they invited.

You know what I consider over the top? Starting writing campaigns over chicken and noodles not being on a menu. I haven't liked the dumbing down of the menus for years, but petitions over it? We all have our lines in the sand, don't we?

That's like asking "why was you willing to pay $2.99 a bag for apples but not for oranges?". Preference? Value? Some rides are more my preference. Some rides I am willing to wait in line (up to a certain length of time) for more than others.

But I didn't suggest that at all. I never even implied that everyone should just be happy about it. I stated that people could still have a good time and enjoy themselves, and they can. Some of these folks let it ruin their entire park day.

If comments don't apply to you there really is no reason to get so worked up over them. And if they DO apply to you, there still is no reason to get so worked up over them. My comments are merely a reassuring suggestion to remind everyone that they can still have a good time and make plenty of memories without all the stress and chaos. How is that fun? If planning for Disney becomes a job, its not fun anymore.

Wait times now are what standby lines have been for years with FP+. I'm not saying its pleasant but honestly, an hour or less during peak summer really isn't bad. Would I wait in those lines? Nope.

Color me confused because these two things don't go together.

I stated that people could still have a good time and enjoy themselves, and they can.

I can easily go with no dining plan whatsoever (actually, I'd prefer they not have dining plans, but that's another post)and not a single sit down restaurant open. To be honest, they wouldn't have to have food service in the parks at all and we'd still go. But I'd never presume to tell somone else they could go under those conditions and still have a great time. It's condescending to tell people they're wrong because they won't enjoy a situation that is ok with you.

And please stop with the don't get so worked up when people respond to a post you make. No one is worked up. You can post here and debate here and not be worked up or chaotic or stressed.

@cakebaker someone else makes a different point and you can not just let them make it instead you rehash the exact same argument you have already posted hoping maybe this time there will be no disagreement

I just had to click, didn't I. Thanks for the input. Lesson learned, glad it's fixable. See ya or more accurately, won't see ya'. :genie:

Time for some perspective in life.

Not sure which is worse- people arguing or the internet ( I live to call it a lively exchange of ideas, sounds prettier) or people lecturing other people on the internet. At any rate, enjoy your 4th- We had our big family gathering yesterday and last night- blew some stuff up, drank a little (too much)- had some close calls with the kids (I knew giving them the matches was a bad idea, but it was easier than getting out of the pool), but they survived and a good time was had by all! :)

Unfortunately, it has been more difficult to feel patriotic for me lately. Too much division in our great nation...

What else is there to do? Not like you can entertain yourself refreshing for the next FP. This is all Disney's fault.
Disney should offer an enhancement to mobile ordering. Delivery while in line. Sort of like room service. Limited menu. Water. Snacks. Wine and beer. Themed adult drinks, carribean rum punch for guests waiting for PoC.

I’ve commented a few times.. but if I can ease anyone’s mind on being nervous about a day of system like maxpass..

it’s really not bad. You get scanned into the park- so arrive early for rope drops and you can make your first FP selection. It then starts a timer on when you can make your next one. If your paying good attention to that time you can make the next one- you easily start stacking them for the day.
Also- it’s nice when you take a hotel break- you can keep making them and start stacking them for the evening.

our Disneyland trips we easily rode headliners multiple times in a trip.. once you learn the rides that run out of FP first and get the system down it’s really nice.
It’s interesting that folks used to fastpass plus can’t imagine not having it and those of us who have every only used maxpass can’t imagine pre booking fastpasses.

one thing people have liked about post Covid Disney is that it doesn’t require extreme planning. That’s why we have always loved Disneyland.

I think Disney can use the park reservation system to create a day if fastpass booking that wouldn’t require you to be in the park.. they have done that with boarding groups. Then fastpass for hoppers opening up at 2pm for other parks.
Thank you for this. One question: Do you book the fp virtual or through a kiosk, and if the kiosk, do you have to be at the kiosk outside the attraction, as in the old paper fp days? I used paper fps in the past and loved them. If you had the system down, you could breeze through a park.

Absolutely brilliant idea.

Or at least maybe a bar outside of every headliner line’s starting point. I’d happily never visit a fastpass thread again in my Disney life. If only….
