Hear me out on this...

First of all I haven't read the whole thread so if this was said sorry for repeating.

We are not a gay family and we haven't even heard of " gay days " before we went in June a couple of years ago...and I will tell you first hand you will never know the difference except for the crowd level.

We never knew it was gay day until we were on the bus talking with everyone around us and we were all commenting on the amount of people wearing red that day ( including us ) :rotfl2: it felt so good to be in a festive family type gathering and I felt a closness to people that I haven't felt in years, it really was nice to see people so happy towards others there . Other than that, no worries, folks just enjoying the parks with their families and new friends, we seen NOTHING untowards at all, no fears.

Go Enjoy your family, and have a ball, I promise you will be glad you went !

Is that gonna be in her trip report? (still looking for the smiley tossing it's cookies bare with me).

Your wish...

What I find strange is planning a family vaca around having sex too. :crazy2: No, what I find really strange is asking ppl I really don't know how to sneak in a little Pokey and Gumby if ya know what I mean.... Sssh! :p I know Pokey and Gumby aren't Disney characters leave me alone. Bambi and Thumper just didn't work. ANYHOO.....

That in itself would turn me off. I'd be thinking "ohhh baby...hey you know
what? Such n such was right this IS a perfect way to....." :scared: Are ppl gonna be asking if she took their advice and how many times they did it? Is that gonna be in her trip report? (still looking for the smiley tossing it's cookies bare with me) Sorry but if I were to sneak in a little action I don't want ANYONE knowing about it cept my hubby. Besides, I've been a Mom for 16 years now and I think I can figure it out ALL by myself if need be.

I'm sorry, I am laughing myself into a fit thinking about seeing ppl in the park wearing buttons that say "Congratulate me, I "did it" last night!"

I'd post over in that thread but it would only escalate into a war.

Pokey and Gumby!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I'm using that!
When my kids were younger they called it the "Wild Monkey Dance" (an older cousin taught them that :upsidedow ) anyhow, it stuck....

if you were straight, and I was available...i'd ask you to marry me!:flower3:

You're a doll.

Hi InfernoGirl

You didn't offend me at all, I agree with Orlando Mike, just alter your schedule of park days if it gets to you.

I went once to Gay Days and it was really just mostly people celebrating hanging out together.

The most interesting thing that happened was that on a boat transporting people from Hollywood Studios (MGM then) to the Boardwalk, a young handsome male couple of teachers had the entire boat singing along with them and a brownie troop, several fun disney songs to occupy the short and crowded voyage back to the resorts. The only one that seemed surprised, was the ship's captain who couldn't believe that a crowd of people at 11 PM were so happy and not exhausted and sleeping !

Have fun on your vacation !

Hugs, Phil

p.s. -- the up-chucking smiley is awesome. How do we get the DIS WIZes to incorporate it into the existing pantheon of smilies?

I didn't read through the whole thread but thought I would send along my 2 cents.

I also really bugs me when people say Oh I don't want to explain it to my kid. You know what? I have a 7 and an 8 year old AND a gay 19 year old daughter. They see her and her long term (2 years+) girlfriend holding hands, giving each other a kiss, giving hugs etc. They have never blinked an eye. And why is that? Because to them is just 2 people who love each other. They have NEVER asked "Why does Emily have a girlfirend and not a boyfriend?" A 5 year old will not think its weird unless they've been told its weird or wrong.

Now on the subject of seeing men dressed a ladies or other "out of the ordinary" outfits (including the straight oddballs we have so many of out here in California). My kids will giggle but they rarely ask "Why is that person dressed like that?". We just tell the kids to each his own if they do comment.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who think we are warping our kids but I think we are raising them to be healthy, well educated tolerant individuals.

Unfortunately because a large part of the world is not like that though I have told my 13 year old middle school son not to talk to friends at school and tell them his sister is gay. (We come a from a WAAAAAY too conservative area) and I don't want him to start having kids bother him because of it. I don't ask my daughter to hide her sexual orientation in the least but I do ask her to be as respectful as I expected her older brother and sister to be with their opposite sex partners while in public because it's in good taste. If anyone were ask my son, he would simply yes his sister is gay (he wouldn't deny it, because we know its not wrong).

Ok,OK

Gone for a day and this thread grew. Thanks to all for aheads up. I dont really want to start a thread bashing on here esp since it will be against me and I do want to start having an open mind, even though, I might have a hard timing doing it, where is a good place to get answers that might help me out? And I do have alot of questions...

I will actually start it out, I am not InfernoGirl but rather her husband using her login to this forum. Normally I am a car/motorcycle forum junkie but I am also a (lack for better words) closet Disney fan! I didnt want to start off with saying that because the thread could have went a different way. So I applogize for that.

BTW...Honey if you see this, sorry I used your login. Just wanted to see what to expect on this vacation.

Am I going to get into trouble for posting that he was posting in drag on our board? :rolleyes1

Not that I would know a thing about that. :rotfl:

Let's all go to our happy places. :cloud9:

Dude, they're just up in your grill because you're blond, skinny and young. Wait until you're old and fat and they dump you like a hot potato.

Back to my happy place :goodvibes (it IS Friday, after all)

Mr. Infernogirl --

The people here are the BEST. :goodvibes Sounds like maybe you're startin' to see that. Sometimes, knowing you don't know something is the beginning of the path to knowledge. I think if you go on your vacation as planned, you might just find yourself a little further along that path. :)

Post right here and ask away. Admittedly, there will be a few who may be offended by the course of questioning, and I understand that. At the same token, I would much rather have someone ask questions, no matter how invasive, in the hopes that you learn a bit more. How else is anyone to learn without asking?

I'll be the first in line to support a straight individual who seeks more information about the g/l/b/t community, even if their line of questioning may be construed as potentially offensive. I'd rather they ask, than simply make assumptions which likely aren't true.

Folks, how can anyone hope to gain insight (that we hope for) without first bringing up the topic at hand. I'd much rather have someone ask "What do I tell my children if they see two men holding hands?" as opposed to "I don't want my children to see two men holding hands because I don't know what to say."
