I've been looking at the menus for the counter-service restaurants on allearsnet and wonder if the information might not be complete.

Do the Universal Orlando counter-service restaurants offer any healthy alternatives to fries? Carrot sticks, side salad, etc?

Also, there were only a few kids meals listed and those were pretty typical burger, fries, & soda offerings. Are there healthy alternatives like at the Disney quick-service choices - apple wedges, juice boxes?

Thank you.

From the website:

Universal Orlando Resort provides healthy and delicious dining options for you and your family while you visit Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. Many of our restaurants and food locations located in our theme parks cook with trans-fat-free oil.

And at select locations, side options for adults and children include healthy choices. At those locations, Kids Meals come with a choice of fruit or trans-fat-free fries. Adults can select from either a side salad or trans-fat-free fries. When you arrive, please see the theme park guides for more information.

Finding healthy food for your kids is a challenge, unless the kids have been "educated" to good food.

If so, I'd recommend Mythos in IOA or Lombards in USF, where there are some terrific options that are above the norm. Of course, you'll pay a bit more...

you're on vacation. i say go for the fries.
