So everyone's always posting pics of the yummy, indulgent foods. I'd like to know the best places to find HEALTHY yummy food!

Have got ADRs at The Wave, Boma, Narcoosees & Wolfgang Puck for Jersey Week, so think I'm on the right track. Lots of seafood, whole grains & high fiber choices.

Was wondering what the best choices are for CS during the day? Looking for whole grain breads, low fat, high protein foods.

allearsnet.com go to dining and you can see the menu's for every eatery.

MK has Columbia Harbor House good healthy choices.
Cosmic Rays has a great rotisserie chicken w/ green beans, salads.

DHS has saladw/ chicken choices at Toy Story Pizza planet
Epcot Sunshine Seasons lots of choices.

Dole Whips, Smoked Turkey Legs, Popcorn, Tie Dyed Cheescake, Mickey Shaped chocolate covered ice cream on a stick, giant Mickey Cookies dipped in anything you want and cotton candy aren't healthy!?!?!?!?! Oh man:eek: I knew it was too good to be true!:thumbsup2:rotfl2::cool1:

I try to eat as healthy as I can all year round but when i go on my disney trips I literally stuff my face with everything and anything! :lmao::lmao:

The Wave at the Contemporary has healthy food and the cooks at any wdw restaurant will cook your food to order (i.e no butter, grill instead of fry meats, etc) as well.

I second Epcot Sunshine Seasons. I felt like this was our healthiest counter service meal. I had salad (it was very good) and hubby had broccoli, thai noodles and veggies. Very good and we felt great afterward.

Coral Reef is another good table service, and Wolfgang Puck Express is good for couter service.

You will have the most luck with table service meals. We found that counter service meals were more than often greasy fried foods. I'm vegan, so that also restricted my choices. I agree that Sunshine Seasons was the healthiest CS around, we enjoyed it!

Here's another vote for Sunshine Seasons. Love the veggie sushi they have there. And the beet salad was also pretty impressive :thumbsup2

Check out Fresh Mediterranean Market at the dolphin for breakfast - homemade granola, juice bar (with wheatgrass), fruit, etc, etc

I second allears for the menus. We're going in December, and I've printed out all of the menus (knowing they'll probably change, though). Planning ahead is the best thing you can do to eat healthy in DW.

I'd like to second the Wolfgang Puck Express. If you're on the dining plan, it's only a counter service credit and it's a great deal! (I honestly think this option is the #1 best value of the DDP.)

Counter service recommendations:

MK: Columbia Harbour House has a hummus and broccoli slaw sandwich on whole grain bread. It is very nice.

Studios: Starring Rolls bakery sells a roasted vegetable sandwich on whole grain bread. It has eggplant, zucchini, carrot, pepper, and IIRC, arugula.

EPCOT: Sunshine Seasons, as others have mentioned, has many healthy choices.

All of the parks have kiosks with fresh fruit--both cut up and whole--and yogurt for sale.

Columbia Harbor House for sure.

Tangierine Cafe in Morocco seems pretty healthy to me as well.

We also second Cosmic Rays for the rotisserie chicken. :thumbsup2 Yummy. And vegetables that are not fried either. We eat there usually more than once. The portions are quite large, so my daughters can share an adult meal no problem.

pooh: Another vote for Wolfgang Puck Express . DH & I ate in the one in Marketplace our last 3 trips and are planning to go to it at least once in November. It is not the usual fast food park fare. Last time we had the whole family (M & D Sister Bro-in law and their 2 kids) We all enjoyed it.Second favorite meal for my Mom behind CP breakfast :surfweb:

. . . . and the cooks at any wdw restaurant will cook your food to order (i.e no butter, grill instead of fry meats, etc) as well.

I'll second this part. With a heart condition, I always speak with a chef before ordering. Usually they can make small changes to how a dish is prepared or change the side dishes, to eliminate the high fat /high sugar parts of the meal. On occasion they've offered to make an entirely different dish that wasn't even on the menu.

My experience is that some of the non-Disney-managed restaurants are less accommodating, though many are. The Disney-run locations have been uniformly helpful.

YES - great suggestions - keep 'em coming! :thumbsup2

I've read all through the menus on allears, but I know this board is where it's at for the best recommendations!

As for the treats - that's WHY we try really hard to eat healthy meals. The new tequila bar beckons...

Ohana's meats, steak, shrimp, turkey are grilled and seemed very lean. Also, they are small portions. The vegetables and noodles are also good options. The vegetarian dish there is excellent. Mention special diet at the podium and request to speak with the chef, TJ. He is :thumbsup2.

The Wave is a good choice with lots of healthy items to choose from and how they are prepared, they even have whole grain pasta as an option. They serve a delicious whole grain bread with your meal as well.
Boma being a buffet has lots of options, many of them being healthy as well.
Narcossees is a lot of seafood and I'm sure the chef can prepare something to your needs. (We stayed at the GF and our room was a stone's throw away from Narcossees and oh, the delicious aromas we smelled!)

Wolfgang Puck like others said has lots of options.
A lot of the counter services mentioned are good. Lots of fruit stands for healthy snacks. Liberty Square in the MK has a stand with baked potatoes that are delicious.
You will be surprised at how many good choice items there are to choose from. Now choosing them over all the other things....that's a different story! ;)

I have good news! Dole whips are fairly healthy! They are a non-dairy alternative treat and relatively low in calories and almost fat free! About 80 calories for 4 oz....
