Health question--skin feels like burning- anyone else experience this-- feeling alone

Janice-- did you say you do have MS. Was there anything they could do for skin feeling? My skin is not red or anything. I took my last zpack dose for cold almost a week ago. This is just sad and frustrating.

You were taking zpack for a cold? You must have had something other than a cold to be prescribed an antibiotic.

You may be allergic to it. Even if you've taken it before. My DD had taken an antibiotic twice with no problems and then had a bad skin reaction to it the third time she took it about three days in.

You need to see a doctor today. See if they can fit you in.

You seem very focused on MS, which just seems to me like an extreme place to go after a few days of a symptom such as this. Is there a reason you are so concerned about MS?

Just throwing it out there- I had issues with my skin, joint pains, constant tiredness, etc. and underwent tons of tests with multiple doctors only to end up solving it on my own after months of suffering with a vegan gluten free diet for 21 days (turns out it was gluten! As long as I don't consume it the problems stay away).
A lot of people are intolerant to gluten because of the pesticides used nowadays and lots of people are intolerant to dairy. Allergy tests don't pick up on this but the symptoms that happen vary significantly from person to person and it's just always a good thing to do for 21 days to find out. Introduce one thing first after 21 days and then the other a week later and just see how you feel.

I have had friends react with burning skin to milk so this is why I say this, these intolerances can start taking their toll practically overnight.

Not a doctor, just sharing what worked for me. Got the idea of Kris Karr's book: crazy sexy diet.

Last year my job changed & I was on my feet more; horrid joint & muscle pain. FIL suggested eliminating wheat--THAT WAS IT! Have same job & NO muscle/joint aches anymore. (also IBS symptoms gone as well).

I tell people--this is easy. Eliminate wheat for a week. You will KNOW.

(but I agree above sounds like allergic reaction)

You shouldn't have gotten a zpack for a cold, if that is truly what it was.

That said, your symptoms are all listed side effects of azithromycin.

Call your doctor.

I talked to my dentist and he used latex gloves while working on me and I am allergic to latex and powder on them. I'm wondering if it got I to my blood stream directly and that's what is causing this. The dental work was done last Tuesday so would it last this long?

Please go to the doctor and don't rely on a bunch of strangers on the Internet to diagnose your symptoms. If it is truly serious, then you need to treat it now before it gets worse.

You can have an allergic reaction from skin contact.

Use your allergy reaction medications (antihistimines, prednisone, epi-pen, Auvi-Q...whatever your plan is) and see a doctor ASAP.

I'm sorry you are feeling so badly. If it's an allergic reaction, you need to get to a doc. A few years ago, I had been shopping in nurseries for plants. I woke up in the middle of the night with terrible burning and pain on my hands with no visible rash. The doc said whatever I had gotten into was in my bloodstream. Don't wait, see a dr. immediately.

It is all over my body. I have been suffering a bad cold and actually went to the dentist the day before this happened and had to have a tooth built up for a crown that popped off. My joints ache also. I have a doctors appointment on Thursday. I'm just really scared and trying to figure out how to over come this. :(

To those suggesting shingles - they are NOT all over your body. I, too, am experiencing a burning rash on my upper chest, back and shoulders. It started 3 weeks ago, but got to a point, then remained the same, no other symptoms. I did use a calamine 'type' clear lotion and took Benedryl each night.

Was going to call the Dr. this week, but they are going away as mysteriously as they came. :confused3 No different foods, exposures, shampoo, lotions, zip - nothing!! Rashes are really, really strange - lots of times no rhyme or reason. Probably just mostly stress. Try not to worry - yeah, right, I do understand!

Hello-- I love the disboards because not only for the savings but the connections of information from others. Has anyone experienced a burning sensation of their skin like razor burn? I am not on any mess but have been fighting a bad cold, had a crown put on and a ton of stress. I am just looking for information on where to start. It came on out the blue. I am so scared about MS or fibromyalgia. My muscles are sore too like arm and calfskin. I feel alone and wonder if there is anyone else who experienced this. Thanks......

Again I have to wonder why people seek medical advice on a Disney vacation planning forum.

I am wondering that also. I hope the OP is ok, and it is nothing serious, but having a burning feeling on your skin is nothing to wait around for someone to respond to a post about. Go to a medical professional, what if there is something serious and you are waiting for some random person online to give you hints on what they think it is :worried:

This is also what happened to me..... I NEVER would have guessed that connection, but it seems to run in my family......for me though it is about an 85% fix....( no more hurting feet at least)

I only stopped it to post when I saw you were at the dentist. My friend had a dental apt last year, I think it was an infection in gum. At any rate, 2 days later she had shingles and it was terrible. She was in a lot of pain. There was a distinct connection between the two and I forget WHAT it was but something to do with the infection etc. Hope you see a doctor soon but I bet shingles is the culprit!

Exactly! :thumbsup2
Even if we were all physicians, which we're not, you need a proper exam. In 30+ responses of "go see a doctor", OP still hasn't. What are you waiting for? :confused3
I agree with the pp about getting a zpack for a cold. A cold is viral so abx won't help.

I thought her appointment was Thursday and she was just looking for reassurance in the meantime...

I am just feeling despair and really trying to push it to the side because I still have three boys to take of. My husband says to see the doctor but he doesn't understand what it's like to have skin that feels like razor burn right now :(

This is all the more reason to see a doctor and get some answers! I understand seeking opinions on line and experiences but you've got to take some responsibility for your health and get yourself to a doctor.

Thanks to all for your thoughts. Yes my appointment is tomorrow and yes this is the budget board but sometimes when it's late you are just wondering if anyone else has the same thing. I know people are not doctors on here it is just simple experiences that may be a suggestion to the doctor when you see them. Sometimes they don't think of everything. It always helps to have a supportive ear when it's needed. Everyone on this board is usually helpful and friendly. I appreciate all the posts :)

If I couldn't get to the doctor right away, I would take Benadryl and eat some yogurts- although a friend did have liver issues after antibiotics, and Benadryl would be a bad choice for that.
