Hi -
Yesterday at 9 I called member services, got through after a couple of busy signals, and booked a one-bedroom and a two-bedroom for the same week in December (our family is joining us). So we had two confirmation numbers for two reservations, and ended up having to borrow some of next year's points because it was two rooms.

So we got this $8 airfare for a couple of weeks from now and decide to go back to wdw and today I called to try to find a room (only SSR avialable fwiw). Anyway, the person asks me why we borrowed AKV points from next year to book that reservation. I said because there are two rooms. Only one of the rooms was showing up (the one-bedroom). The two-bedroom was gone, but the points we borrowed to complete that reservation were sitting in this year.

It turns out they had a computer problem yesterday. When I gave him the number for the two-bedroom reservation, it came up as another member's name for an April arrival, and listed my wife and children as the additional people on that member's reservation. So they straightened it out and we have a new reservation number.

But that could have been bad, I don't know what would have happened if we got there in Dec. and there wasn't a reservation booked. The reservation CM said that they had computer problems yesterday. I booked this early so they may have fixed it later, I don't know.

Anyway, I am just giving folks a heads up. You might want to look for your reservations in the mail to be sure you have it.

Also, has anyone gotten their tapestry or been asked how to put their name on the tapestry thing?

Thank you.

Did you write that correctly-$8 airfare?!!!

Have fun at AKV! Glad you found the gich so soon!

That is exactly what I was thinking!!! Ummm...hello....I am really glad to hear about the AKV issues, but can you share about that airfare????

it is spirit airlines from Detroit. The truth is I really hate spirit, to be honest. I wouldn't usually get a ticket from them. But it is $8 each way, so it is actually $16 round trip and you have to pay the airport fee also. So what can you do. We just got back last week and we weren't planning on going back to wdw until Dec., but when you can fly the family down for around $100 total and you have annual passes and dvc points to borrow and flexible summer schedules you have to sort of just go ahead and do it I guess. Figaro fries for me in a couple of weeks if you know what I mean.

But anyway, my point was to look carefully at those reservations because they had some sort of computer glitch yesterday and that could really be a nightmare for someone.

What is the advantage of booking the two rooms so that they have separate confirmation numbers? I often book multiple rooms but always put them under one reservation then alter it if I need to - should separate confirmation numbers be something I should consider?

The advantage is: You can cancel one without cancelling the other. So if their family backs out, they only have to cancel their room.

Though its a clever idea, you cannot legally rid yourself of your wife and children by this method of making reservations. The follow-up question is, of course, who has inherited that other member's wife and children.

I booked on opening day, and I've been trying to get on the website since. I didn't want to tie up the phone lines this week double checking, but if they're not up this weekend, I'm definitely going to call Monday.

If you have a question about your reservations, and you don't want to go on the phone, e-mail them. They are pretty good about getting back with the answers to specific questions.

:lmao:

And I am wondering what happened to the other member's family?? I doubt they booked a 2br for just one person.

I wonder if we will adopt any families in Feb??
