Hey everybody - I was working out prices for our anniversary trip in October. I just booked round-trip Delta tickets for about a third of the price they were yesterday. I booked through Orbitz, but the Delta website had them at the same price. Less than $100 for round-trip to Orlando!

I just thought I'd let you guys know. I hope this helps somebody out!

I just checked out of curiosity. They do have some great prices, but all the flights have layovers from my city. A flight that takes me 2 hrs. and 20 minutes or so on Southwest is well over 5 or 6 hours on Delta because of layovers!! Time is money! Thanks for the info though. I appreciate it.

That is crazy. I have been watching flights for our April 2012 trip and today the prices went up $56 a ticket! :scared1:

I'm afraid to check! We booked nonstop Delta flights roundtrip from Boston in mid December for $196 per person. I thought that was pretty good, but if it's lower now I'll be sad!

When did you book them. That is a great price. Last year we paid just over $300.

Want me to check for you and only give you the good news ;)

I just checked - same price as it has been for 2 months for me, but THANK YOU for letting people know. I hope someone is able to get a good ticket price.

I guess we are still driving.:confused3

Thanks! What airport do you fly out of?

Looks like you did well. :cool1: I just checked Delta with random mid-December dates and all of the prices were in the mid-$200. I also checked the "flexible with dates" and they were all in the mid-$200 range.

We went from December 22 to 29 so we hit the high prices last year.

ALSO FRONTIER AND SOUTHWEST are having a 3 day sale!!
HUGE savings I've noticed so far.

We were looking at $1668 for a southwest flight, which is now at $1088!! :cool1:

same with Frontier.

BUT this has me wondering.... Do you think this is the time to snag them or is this a "get people to book at a higher rate" then they'll be in offered in a couple months?

Hope that makes sense. We're looking for Dec 3-12. I was told to wait until late August/September to get the tickets since that's when the real savings come in.

However, this deal looks pretty good. We're looking at $250 pp.
Have you seen much less?
Hate to skip it this sale if it doesn't happen again, but then also hate to purchase too early when they might reduce more! It is a "low travel" week.

I haven't been on a plane in 7 years so you can tell that I'm clueless when it comes to prices.
:goodvibes

To those who asked, we'll be flying out of Louisville. We always have a layover in Atlanta or a similar spot, so I wasn't too worried about getting a nonstop flight. I didn't know if it would help anybody else out, but it sure helped us!:cool1:

Thanks! I saw KY and thought maybe you were flying out of Nashville.

We're going Dec. 11-16. Booked a couple weeks ago. Prices kept fluctuating between $196 and $225, so we decided we better book sooner than later and hope it was the right decision.

Glad to hear it was a good deal, at least so far anyways.

That is funny. When I tried booking the dates to see the price I gave December 12-18 with the dates being flexible.

I don't know what to do about next April. I am getting Delta flights at $287.

Are you flying out of Boston?

Also, when did you book? I would love to get under $200. Most flights are close to $300. I did find one for $257 but the flights have only gone up since then. I don't know how long to wait.

Yes out of Boston. Maybe it's because we're leaving really early (6 am-ish flight I think). And maybe that doesn't include taxes? I thought it did but my hubby actually did the booking so I could be mistaken.

Yeesh those spring flights are expensive! Hope you get a good deal.

We usually also try to get the earliest flight. We have always taken the 7am which is the direct flight.

I checked my flight info and our departure flight is 7am (land at 10:02). We return to Boston on a 6:10 pm flight (land in Boston at 9:06pm). Both are direct flights.

I was a little off-the per person price was $202. Plus $14 tax brings the total to $216 per person. Not as great as what I originally thought we booked at, but still ok I guess. I know when we first started looking into flights they were $196 but that changed daily.

We can get flights from Louisville for $96 round trip. That is a steal (even with taxes at $124). We need 11 tickets so the savings really add up. However, there are no direct flights and the return flights are at 5:30 AM. I think I am going to wait for a sw sale.
