Apparently last Sunday they decided to replace the side of green beans that comes with the fried chicken with collard greens. :crazy2: And apparently (according to our "cousin"), that decision hasn't gone over real well. :rotfl2:

So if you decide to order the fried chicken at 50s Primetime, make sure to ask for green beans if you like them. And if you happen to like collard greens? :faint: :rotfl:

ditto, I love collard greens, will definitely have to get the fried chicken now! :thumbsup2

As long as they don't change the fried chicken. Do I have to eat all my collard greens to get dessert?

:rotfl: He tried to pull that on me--that's how I found out about the complaints. He ended up bringing me a small dish of green beans but after eating the chicken, I wasn't terribly hungry for anything, much less dessert. :)

What exactly are collard greens? I asked last year at the POR food court they just looked at me funny

I am from Canada, and I dont think we have collard greens on our menus

I dont know what collard greens are either. :confused3

Collards are similar to kale or turnip greens. They are leafy, with kind of a strong flavor and you cut them into small strips and cook them in a little water seasoned with salt pork or bacon or some other kind of pork. Southern food. A staple here in the south. My grandmother used to drink her "pot liquor", (aka collard juice) out of her plate. Pot liquor is also fantastic with crumbled up corn bread.

HTH.

I love collard greens...but that's not enough to get me to eat at 50's Primetime! :lmao:

Think strong tasting, tough, dark green cabbage

Oh my gosh, you scared me--I thought they were taking my fried chicken away all together!! Glad to hear it is *just* a side change. I like collards a little, but I really enjoyed their green beans--I'll have to ask for the substitution!

Collards would be prefect with the chicken at primetime!!! I hope they offer malt vinegar with those!!!

Remember also that you can always ask for corn. We never get the green beans as they are nasty and hardly cooked. The corn is canned but much better then the alternative!

I actually like Collard greens so I'm looking forward to the change!

Oh yum!

I love collard greens. Add some black eyed peas and some chow-chow on the side and I might order fried chicken again.

I make better fried chicken than I got at the Prime time!

id rather the green beans but i have never had collard greens so i might like it. I know cg are more of a south thing, but I am willing to try! :) When I first went to Disney I wanted to try grits, the waitress asked me where I was from and I told her NY, she said I wouldnt like them and discouraged me from getting them. A year later I had them and I LOVED THEM! I should have never have listed to her. It's all up to your own tastebuds.. whats good for one might not be for another but why not try...
:thumbsup2

Oh, YUM!!!!!!! I love collard greens! I hope they keep this at least until we eat there in September.

Can an adult just get fried chicken and french fries or mashed potatoes ?
No greens ?

My grandmother used to make chow-chow! :thumbsup2
I'll be in South Carolina next month for a family reunion. I'll have to add chow-chow to my list of foods to bring home. :dance3:
