Headpiece dilemma

Hey everybody!

So, my dress had come in and I went to try it on. I actually have to lose a bit of weight for it to fit right. I don't know if this is because they didn't order me the right size or as my mom has so nicely put "that's becuase you put on weight since you ordered it" Yeah, thanks for that mom...

Anyway, so I was waiting for the dress to come in and I had seen a headpiece I really liked there when I ordered the dress, so I tried it on along with a few others (like 4 or 5). Well, there were a couple I liked, but not with the dress...

So, now I'm kind of freaking out...how did all you guys buy your headpieces? I mean, I know that a lot of you, order them without getting to try them on with your dress...

What are your suggestions for me? Should I order a couple on-line before my fitting at the end of February and then if I don't like them, can I return them? What has been your experience with returning stuff you bought on-line? Or, should I try a few local bridal shops other than the one I got the dress from (I'm thinking this will be an expensive option and again, I'm not sure about return policy)...

All in all, to be quite honest with you, I now feel completely lost in regards to my headpiece!!!

I'm not sure how much help I am, but I would say that buying online would not be a good idea unless you find one you absolutely love. If you found one at the place where you bought your dress, they should give you some kind of discount, so maybe look into that. Depending on your dress, I would say look at any design or intricate detail that can be matched and brought out by the headpiece. I actually had my tiara before my dress b/c my DF gave it to me when he proposed but it turned out that the design of the tiara was almost identical to the design on the train. Hope this helps!

I bought mine when I bought my dress. Once I said, yes, this is the dress, the sales lady went and found a nice piece that matched the dress! So I bought it! I got a discount on it too b/c I bought it from the same place I got the dress! I've had second thoughts though, thinking I should have looked around, but I like the one I got! Good Luck!

Maybe you could share what you didn't like about the headpieces with the dress - or maybe show pictures - and we could offer ideas.

I bought mine online from a place in Australia and knew I wouldn't be able to return them, so I did a LOT of thinking first. I actually ended up adding more feathers to the one I wore because in person it didn't look as full as it had in pictures. So I guess I can't recommend buying online if you aren't sure what you want... unless, have you looked on eBay? There are some cheaper ones there. Maybe if you had a certain amount of money you could part with knowing you might not be able to get it back, you could give eBay a try.

Also, the place I used is having a 50% off sale, and maybe with the economy in the tank, you'll get a good exchange rate for Australian dollars...
