Heading down even sooner than I thought!

My H & I have been going back and forth all morning about what to do next weekend. The girls have off from school Fri & Mon so we were going to take a trip down the East Coast in our RV. The weather is looking crappy anywhere except FL and there's no availibility at the Fort. After some discussion we decided to move the trip to Spring Break and I was able to grab 2 nights at the Fort in a preferred pet loop! We'll be there Sat - Mon.

We aren't going into the parks, but I know we'll find TONS to do at the Fort, we've never had time to explore before.

Very fun! I hope you live closer than I do. It would take 2 days travel to stay for 3 days.

The Fort should be great over spring break.

And I just looked at the OP's 'from' and it says 1019 miles from Disney World. That's almost exactly the same distance as me (1003). I would say a long drive for a weekend, but I've done the same thing for a 2 day race weekend, so I probably shouldn't say anything.

We left our house at 4:47 am and drove from IL to Lake City FL in one day, just a few miles shy of 1,000 miles and arrived around 10 pm that night. It was a BIG day of driving and I can't imagine doing that for just a weekend trip. It takes a day or so to recoop from that kind of drive.

It IS going to be a long drive, but the trip is really about the drive for us and seeing new places. We're leaving NJ early (3am ish) on Friday and camping in our motorhome somewhere in Georgia Friday to Saturday then heading to the Fort Sat-Mon, then coming back we are looking to stay in Myrtle Beach on the ocean.

When we come down in August (for a week) we'll be with another family and we're driving straight there, but we'll have some recovery time.
