Heading back to Princess Josie's Castle-An AKV May 22-29 PTR-TR Started 6/3!

Leanne, I am so sorry to hear about your van :sad1:. I'm glad to know that ya'll are safe though. The tornadoes and flooding has been so bad. I think we all need this vacation, I'm trying not to get too depressed about all that is going on, but it sure is hard to get excited when so much is happening :sad1:.

The cake turned out great :thumbsup2. You are so talented and very patient, I have decided that I don't have what it takes to make something so precise. I am an instant gratification kinda gal.........:rotfl:.
The most important thing is that we are all safe. Some folks didn't make it this weekend. I am definite need of a vacation at the moment.

Thanks on the cake. I don't have a lot of patience either so that's why I try to pre-plan. More that goes right the first time the better. :lmao:

Good to hear from you. Very sad to remember those beautiful pics you took back in Dec and see all the damage now :sad2: Love both those vehicles. You ae going to be one cool mama :hippie: or :cutie: or :cool2: just not:sick: now you are :scared1:

:banana::banana::banana::yay::yay::yay:

The damage is amazing Mary. Maybe you remember the pics I took of geocaching?? The park where I took a bunch of them is completely underwater and the roads surrounding it are closed. Sooooo sad.

I will be sick when I have to pay that first car payment!! :lmao: I haven't had one of those in 11 years. :rotfl:

I do remember. Just so sad. I know the payments will suck-I'm sorry. Please atake a pic of ur new ride when you get it ok

I agree, most important thing is that you're all safe!!! Chris's niece is in Clarksville TN, and they're battling the same things you guys are. She's in a little saturn. I've posted the stay safe warnings with her too!! LOL She has been calling Chris every night to let him know she's okay. She has 2 very young kids, so we're TOTALLY worried. And to boot, they have a trip planned to where else? THE GULF in a couple of weeks!!! Poor guys!!! I'm just praying everyone stays safe!! And remember.....stuff can be replaced, people can't!! I lost a van I was pretty attached to in hurricane Wilma, so I know it can be rough. But, there's plenty of really nice cars out there. I've been looking at the Chevy Traverse. Once Chris gets his next bonus, that's my next and last car!! HAHA Check that one out if you're interested in Chevy.

Oh no! That sucks about your car and that the one guy didn't even stop. Atleast the other guy helped out. Sorry about all the rain...we've had our basement flooded a couple times but it was just a couple inches.

WOW! you guys look like it does over here for a bad rain...people in NO area will actually stand on their front stoop w/ shot guns to prevent people from doing what that guy did to you...

I really like the Ford Edge; can't recall what the Acura looks like...I know what you mean about a car note. It is so nice not having one at the time; we talk about getting something else so Danny can park his "toy" but I just do not want the car note again. along with more car insurance...

so sorry to hear about all the destruction going on over there...I know what its like; happy to hear that you guys made it through with only the van problem!
Have a great week!
:wave2: Connie
P.S. check out my siggie

I hope your niece is fairing okay! It has been so crazy. The Nashville area got hit REALLY hard. Our area was hit pretty hard too but in Nashville you have some significant landmarks near the river there. It rained so much and the rain was draining to the rivers & lakes. The river didn't actually crest until late last night-approximately 24 hours after the rain had stopped. It makes me sick to my stomach that the Opryland Hotel and the Grand Ole Opry have been flooded. Soooooo sad. :sad2:

I'm okay on the van. I'm just annoyed by the guy more than anything. :lmao: My disappointment has gotten a lot better. :goodvibes

It does stink but every day that passes I'm getting over it. There are so many people much worse off. It's kind of selfish of me to be fussing over my van. :goodvibes

My pictures don't nearly represent the real devastation. Those were just some "puddles" in comparison. Have you seen the pics of Opryland and Opry Mills under water? It's soooo sad.

I drove another Edge today-I really like the cars package and the color but the dealership was being insane. They wouldn't come off the price at all. I just walked away. The car payment gives me the heebie jeebies...I am a big tight wad after all. :rotfl:

The destruction sucks, but I have to say that I'm really impressed with how people are handling it. No one is flipping out and acting ridiculous...YET. Everyone is helping each other out right now. I'm going to do some volunteer work to help out myself. :goodvibes

Saw the siggie! Heading over!!

Hi Leanne! I am glad to hear you guys are okay! Sorry about the van.

I actually live in the Pennington Bend area of Nashville (Right around the corner from the hotel and mall) We literally left our house at 9:30 on Sunday night because the water started rising so fast...loaded me, my 16 yro son, and the two big dogs in the truck and spent the night at my office. I was terrified to come home last night after seeing the pictures of the hotel...I truely thought that we would be under water. Well, we were incredibly blessed...our house was dry. My neighbors 5 houses down were not so lucky. I will see if I can post a picture her of the street 5 houses down...

I am so glad that you are okay Lynn! I have been thinking about you. How sad for your neighbor!! Is she going to be okay? Is there anything she needs or could use? If I don't have it, I might have a connection that does. Please let me know what I can do to help.

Thanks Leanne...basically 5 houses down from me to the back of my neighborhood is totally flooded. Most families theree do not have flood insurance. A lot are still not really able to do clean up because the river is receding so slowly. We may give a shout out to the DIS boards if they need things. Right now I think most people are just trying to asses where they stand with things.

Lynn

What a total farthead that guy in the jacked up truck was! Thank goodness you got a kind heartheaded (non-psycho) person who helped you out. Now-a-days, you are lucky to find those type of people.

I hate having a car note so I know how you feel. We always drive a car until it's ten years old or older. At least you know you got your money's worth out of your van.

Oh no! I can't believe what happened to you--that's awful--. Some people think they are they only ones with the right to be on the road! :scared1:

I hope you find something that you just love, for the right price!

The cake was cute, too!

The flooding is awful...I've seen a few pictures from a friend in the Nashville area...unbelievable....

Thank goodness for the kindness of strangers. I am so happy someone stopped to help you. I hope you find a vehicle you will treasure as much as this one! I have to agree, I LOVE my van too. :goodvibes:

If you enlist the help of the DIS boards, please let me know! I'd be happy to help. I can't imagine the shock a lot of people must be experiencing. :sad2:

That's one thing to call him Lisa! :lmao: I was talking to Mary last night and she brought up an excellent point. The whole experience was probably a lesson from God reminding me that I'm not in control. He is in control. I'm going to try to hang onto that thought when I get on the plane on 5/22.

It is killing me to think about a $400-$500 car payment. I've worked so hard to eliminate my debt that it just hurts my soul to think about it. I most certainly got my money out of my van....if you only knew what a bargain I got on her. :goodvibes I try to squeeze every nickel out of my vehicles too! :thumbsup2

It was stinky but it could have been worse. I told Joe I needed a few days to pout and then I would be better. :goodvibes

Thanks for the well wishes B and on the cake too!

The flooding is unbelieveable. Most people in this area do not have flood insurance as many of the areas that are flooding aren't considered flood zones and there has never been anything like this before. I hope FEMA can help some of these people salvage a little bit of their losses. :goodvibes

It made me feel a lot better that the nice guy stuck around. I hope I find something too. My last two vehicles were a Toyota Camry and a Toyota Sienna. Both went nearly 200k miles with only new brakes, a battery, and tires before they were sold or retired unexpectedly. They were basically maintenance free. I've been soooo spoiled. I hope I find another vehicle like that!:thumbsup2

Thanks Leanne....She's okay. She's been calling Chris every night checking in. They have water in the basement, but that's it. Good luck on the car shopping, car payments suck, but it is nice having reliable transportation!! Gotta get back and forth to disney SOMEHOW!!! LOL
