This is my first attempt at a pre-trip report. We are uber excited about this trip and being the compulsive planner that I am, if I don't find a way to occupy myself, I just might start packing now!
We are driving down from North Texas. This is a 1000+ mile trip. Kinda nervous about it with the DD. We have friends that we are staying with on the drive down and we're hoping that we'll get rested up and not be as tired when we arrive. This will be our 7th trip and 2nd with DD. We are staying at the Bonnet Creek Resort, thanks to my awesome SIL who gave us her RCI week. She rocks!!
We are very excited to stay here. DH and I have been throwing around the idea of buying a timeshare, so if we enjoy our stay as much as we think we will, we just might buy resale here. They are selling for pennies on the dollar right now.
Anyhoo....on with the show.
The Cast:
Kelly (me)-Lover of all things Disney. Our guest room is Mickey and the tree at Christmas is Disney. I have seen all the Travel Channel specials on WDW a million times and aspire to retire in Orlando one of these days.
Chris (DH)-Used to live in Debary, FL and loves the World as much as I do. Had to talk me into going on our Disneymoon because I thought there wouldn't be enough to do for adults there. (what was I thinking?)
Allie (DD)-She's two going on twenty and is the absolute light of our lives. She celebrated her first birthday at WDW and we had a blast on that trip. Loves Minnie.
We are planning to go to MNSSHP, but I'm worried about Allie enjoying it. I don't want her to be scared. Is there enough for her to do there at her age. I love the idea of getting her special costume to trick or treat in....but I'm also worried about the heat. Anyone ever been with a toddler? I'd love costume ideas for her that would be cool enough for the FL heat in Sept.
We have a one bedroom condo with a full kitchen, so the plan is to cook breakfast every morning, eat lunch back at the hotel so Allie can nap, and eat dinner out every night. I was able to start booking ADRs yesterday! Here's a rundown of our ADRs.
18th-not planning on hitting the parks this day. Vegging out by the pool at the resort and then heading to DtD for dinner at Raglan Road @ 7:30pm. Very excited about this one. A little worried about the time, but Allie is a night owl and if she gets a long nap in at the resort, she'll be fine.
19th-We were planning on eating at the Coral Reef, but I can't get ressies for this day. Any suggestions for dinner at Epcot? We've eaten at several places in Epcot before and we were hoping to try something new. We've tried: Rose and Crown, Beirgarten, Tokyo Dining, and Le Cellier.
20th-Tony's Town Square in the MK. We've eaten here before and thought the food was good. The service was terrible, but the hope is that it was just an off night.
21st-Fantasmic Dinner Hollywood Brown Derby. We are excited about this one. The food looks phenomenal. Just wondering if this place is appropriate for kids.
22nd-Whispering Canyon for early dinner. This one is still up in the air. This is the day we plan to go to MNSSHP, so in order to make the party at opening, we'll have to plan to eat early. We were also thinking of maybe trying Crystal Palace for dinner. We have eaten here several times for breakfast but not for dinner.
23rd-Donald's Safari Breakfast. Shooting for the earliest ADR....hoping to get it! We are also planning for Yak and Yeti for dinner. Very excited to try that out.
24th-open. suggestions?
25th-Check out day. Not hitting the parks. We are just going to stop in a DtD to finish up shopping and have lunch at Earl of Sandwich. LOVE LOVE LOVE that place!
So, thus begins my first ever pre-trip report. I'd love any suggestions and feedback.
