We went to Disneyland last September and really struggled with some of the experience. My dh and I really really walked away from the trip thinking we were done with Disneyland for the forseeable future even though we have been a die hard Disney family. Well, the future has gotten here faster than I thought because my son graduated this year and going to Disneyland is what he wants to do for his graduation trip.

We are looking at going sometime between August 26 or September 9th for about a week with four or five park days. Our touring style is park hopping, using single rider lines and taking breaks mid day. Last year we did Oogie Boogie but aren't interested in doing it again. What I'm wondering is will there be a better time crowd wise with in that span? It seems to me that it is a transitional time because schools will hopefully be back in session, Labor Day is in the middle of it and the beginning of the Halloween season which seems to have gotten very very busy. I have no idea what is going on with the season passes though. I haven't kept up with Disney news because we were going to be taking a break so I don't know how things are in the park and what has changed since last fall. We went before Genie+ started so that is a whole new thing for us too.

I was also wondering if anyone has experience with using mobility scooters in the park. I had a stroke 2 months ago and although my balance has recovered and I can walk pretty good now my stamina is so low now and I get tired so quickly that I am 99% sure I will have to have a scooter. It's possible that I will be able to walk around different lands and stand in some of the lines but I also think it's very probable that there will be much of the time where I will not be able to and will need to scooter to help me get around have a place to sit when my legs give out. It's honestly an extremely overwhelming idea for me to go. Hopefully I will be much stronger in a couple months but even so . . . . . . . does anyone have advice on how to do Disneyland with a scooter and easily tiring? I would love to see World of Color and Fantasmic but don't know how it works with a scooter.

I can’t help with times to go, but I have used an ECV a few times due to foot injuries. It is a lifesaver. In DCA you can take it into lines. At DL for most rides you will get a return time. I would rent from an offsite company and not use the park scooters, they are too large and hard to maneuver.

I don’t have personal experience watching shows on the scooter but I’m sure someone here probably knows, or you can always ask guest services.

My best advice is don’t stress about it! I was so nervous before I used one but it ended up being so easy to use. CMs were also very helpful if I had questions. Just go slow in crowds and watch for people (usually kids) who might dart in front of you.

Way back in 2012 we did a dining package for WoC, and one of our party of 10 was in a powerchair. They have an area specifically for wheeled guests. To avoid taking up too much of that space, we setup the wheelchair and two other members of the party in that section, and the rest of us gathered just across the boundary in the other section. It worked very well for us. The view was slightly disburbed for the wheeled guest because people stand for this show, and often parents will put children on their shoulders. Only the very tall and double decker guests caused any problems though, and he felt it was worth it.

F! everyone sits for the show, but I am unfamiliar with the wheeled section. I'd guess it is in the back of the viewing areas since everyone else is seated on concrete. There is no reserved seating outside of packages, but I also have heard there is good walk up viewing, especially for the second show.

I'll check out Select Scooter as well as a few others. I booked the hotel this morning so the trip has become a reality. :) I'd really like to find out how World of Color will work with a scooter. I watched a youtube video but it seems like not even the castmates really knew what to do with the people from the video. I guess we go and hope for the best.

I got a reservation for a scooter but my husband is worried about me going back to our hotel on my own late at night. I've tried getting a scooter that can break down and fit in the back of a car but neither Deckerts or Select Scooter has them right now. Deckerts said they are on back order. We will be staying at Peacock Suites which is a mile away. I would go down Harbor Blvd then turn left onto Katella, pass the Garden Walk and the Worldmark then turn left again onto Anaheim Blvd. I think it should be safe . . . that there will be other people walking back to hotels as well. What do you guys think? Just trying to figure out how safe the area is if it's 11 or 12 oclock and what the other options might be.

I think we've got it figured out . . . watched youtube videos on how to disassemble the scooter and will be able to fit it in the back of the vehicle so now everyone is happy. I'm actually going to rent from Deckert instead because they are significantly cheaper for the same scooter and many people on the boards have said they like them.

Be sure to ask if Deckert has upgraded the battery in their scooters, I rented from them once and the battery got perilously low before the end of the night at 9:30- 10:00
