You guys were so great with my question last week, I have some more I need help with. I have been reading all the posts, about re-sales and add-ons etc. I am still confused, or not clear on some things. How exactly do add-ons work when you buy them, Disney or re-sale? Is there a difference in Disney and re-sale add-ons? How do they work with your use year. If your use year is October, do your add-ons also become October or do they have a different use year? I also have read about people adding on at a different resort than their home resort. Is this a whole new contract, or how does this work, and how does it affect when you can book your room????

So much information, so little brain power to process it all with. Thanks so much for all your help!!!

Is there a difference in Disney and re-sale add-ons?

No, well yes, buying thru Disney is much faster..... plus if you want BCV you have to buy via Disney.

They have the same UY, unless you add on 150 or more points, then,if you want, you can select another UY .

Each add on is a new contract. If all your points (inital purchase plus any add ons) are at one resort (lets say OKW) then you have the 11 month window at OKW for all your points.
If you have 150 points at OKW and say, 75 points at BCV then you can book 150 point, 11 months out at OKW, and 75 points worth at ll months out at BCV.

Now with two different resorts you can combine points at the 7 month window with no problem. Well only the problem of availibility...... NOt all rooms are availible at all resorts at the 7 month window. So unless you need to stay at BWV standard Studio..... and something at OKW is fine.... then this isnt a huge issue.

Thanks so much, that really helps!! Now am I also understanding correctly that you can't get add-ons for sold out resorts from Disney, except through a waiting list??

If you get a resale add on and the use year is different from your own you can not change it to your use year...So, if your original contract is Oct. and the add on is Feb. then you have a different use year for each....

I tried to keep my use year on add ons with in 1 month either way of my original contract...

SOme resorts have some UY availible for add ons thru Disney....... VWL, HH, VB and of course BCV....... OKW and BWV there is a waiting list for ALL UY.
