Uh... nope. Someone telling me that I made everything in this thread up is being a troll, IMO. I'm not a liar. There's no wrath. There's a big difference between "be careful" posts and "this is a fake thread" posts. I absolutely don't want him to just placate me, nor am I upset because people are telling me opinions different than my own, because I'm a big girl and I know that everyone has different opinions and interpretations of the situation.

Again you are reading what you want to read and seeing what you want to see. I highly doubt someone like me with over 4000 posts is a troll. It is clear you want things your way and your way is the only right way in your eyes. I am sorry I will not pat someone on the back to placate them and their ego. I don't understand why you came here to ask the question if you fight everybody with an opinion that doesn't meet your decided upon outcome? No, I wasn't talking about you at all. I'm referring to the individuals who say that I'm making this whole thread up, like I said in my post.

It is kind of baffling, you say he won't propose, and then you say he is goiing to propose. If he is going to propose then I guess you have no problem. But if want us to tell you what you want to hear and it goes the opposite way please don't be mad at us.

My issue is just that I'm impatient to start our lives together. That's all.

Then ask him to marry you. Problem solved. If you want to be engaged so badly get engaged, the fact you are waiting for a proposal shows more and more you want the attention and you want to be woo'd, those are frivolous things.

No, not at all! I talked to him last night like many PPs said I should, just to clear things up, and he is still on board for the plans we have already talked about... so I believe he will propose soon after last night's conversation. Before that, I wasn't sure if it would be soon.

My DH proposed 3x to me. I was just not ready yet but the pressure was on. He's 5 years older than me so he was ready. I was 21 and not sure. I knew I loved him but...well, I gave that ring back 2x before I kept it for good.

Feeling pressured into such a big decision is a horrible place to be. I can relate to your BF.

Yep you are right! There is not! It's not all hearts and flowers and Unicorns! There is lots of hard work, team playing and partnership involved plus lots and lots and lots of communication. I get the feeling that she is only concerned about getting the ring on her finger and not the whole picture of being married..but that is my opinion and it was not meant to put her down at all.

Last time i pressured my BF into something big because I wanted it, he dumped me.. so Please be patient, guys do not like to be pressured into things

He must have at some point "proposed" already because you don't look for rings, pick a church, pick a date, etc. without someone coming out and saying some form of "let's get married" and someone else saying "okay!".

And if you have already agreed to get married, why the "formal proposal"? Then it is all just for show. Yet, if you haven't agreed to get married, why the dress and the church and the date? It is a conundrum enough to make someone's head explode.

Anyway, I am glad you are backing off. This must all be so exhausting and pressure-filled for this guy. In all your rush to get what you want don't suck all of the joy of it for him.

Long story short, I have really small fingers and I had always told him I wanted to look at and try rings on before he bought one so I would know what would look okay on me. (Almost every couple I know that has gotten married in the last 7 years has done this... Maybe this is only a Midwest thing?)

My dear, if it was so creepy, why would you be posting under the same username that you use for some many other things. You made it really easy. It's also really easy to point out that you have posts on your blog where you talk about how you're obsessed with weddings and have even had your photographer picked out for several years, but I won't do that.

I could point out how those posts were not written recently and it's really unfortunate that you have so much time to google me AND read through a substantial portion of my blog, which I no longer update, but I won't do that either.

Ha, no worries, I'm planning on deactivating this account as soon as I can get to a computer. It's absolutely absurd that one post leads people to combing through every piece of social media I've ever posted... Even the blog posts I wrote 3 years ago. It amazes me that I can post something here 12 different ways and no one seems to acknowledge it but now I have people digging through my old blog to find things to use against me? I don't even know what is wrong with people.

Yep, you're right. Obviously you haven't been to the Games forum where it's possible to rack up over 50 posts in 20 minutes. 90% of my posts are in Games. And I was playing the games to entertain myself, not attack someone I've never met just to make myself feel better about my sad life.
