HDDR...two full hours, or a little less?

Hello all. We have a sleigh ride booked for 6:00 PM at FW. There is availability for a 4:00 PM HDDR. I'm seeing that HDDR runs two hours. For those who go...is that a full two hours? If it's more like an hour and 45 minutes, that would allow us to get to the sleigh ride on time. I don't want to book the sleigh ride any later, because it is our arrival day, and I'm taking my 91 year old mom. HDDR isn't a must do for us, just wondering if it might be an option.
Thanks for any insight.

I think you will be fine. The check-in for the sleigh ride and Pioneer Hall are literally steps from each other. My only concern would be if someone needed to use the restroom after the show. If that's the case, you could always send another person ahead to check in for the sleigh ride. We did the 4 pm Hoop followed by a 6:30 pm sleigh ride in December and it felt like we had a lot of time to kill.

Thank you both. I tried to book the 6:30 sleigh ride, but it wasn't available.

even if it does end at hour 45 it could take you almost to 2 hours to get out esp with a senior as everyone is leaving at same time where coming in is spread out a little. and as another mentioned the bathroom is outside the dining hall. also unless you are getting Cat 1 seating you could have to go up steps to get to your table no elevator

I have to assume that a 61 year old woman (me) and a 91 year old woman (my mom) will probably want to use the restroom before we leave. probably best to eat somewhere else and not be staring at the clock. Thanks for the input everyone.

Perhaps consider Trail's End at Ft. W or one of the restaurants at WL or CR? Either would make getting to your sleigh ride fairly easy - either walking from Trail's End or taking the boat from WL or CR.

Edited to add: Trail's End is probably your best bet as it opens for dinner at 4:30 pm and you could walk right over. If the menu appeals, of course!

I had been thinking that I would avoid buffets, so my mom can just sit and be waited on, but Trail's End is very appealing. She is a pretty spry 91 year old, and I could always get her food for her. I think she would enjoy Trail's End. Thanks.

Trails End is next door to HDDR and is where you would enter HDDR if you need to avoid steps. you would be very close to sleigh ride and the boat dock. that would be the way I would go as someone a little older than you esp if sleigh ride is the important one of the 2

Trail's End is a good choice, but HDDR would likely be more enjoyable. I've never been to HDDR, but my initial thought was perhaps you can settle any bill (is there a bill?) at the start of the meal, and sneak out a few minutes early. I'm not sure if the set-up is conducive to this, but I'm sure people step outside often for whatever reason - crying kids, phone calls, etc.

It is a full 2 hours

This.

Depending on where you are in line, once you are seated, you will wait while others are seated. This can take up to 15 minutes. Everyone must be seated before the show begins, because the performers use the same entrance door to kick things off.
