You have all convinced me to try this. My DBF and I will be visting in October. We want to go to the last show, how would we get back to the resort, through DD? Also, would two adults look out of place? And are there any other options besides strawberry shortcake? My DBF is allergic to strawberries. Thanks!

Which resort are you staying in? If some parks are still open at that time, you can hop on a bus to a park and grab your resort bus from there. You can also get on the bus for Downtown Disney and then find your bus. I also THINK you can get on a boat to MK and if it's still open then grab your bus from there. IT all really depends. We were staying at CBR so we grabbed the first bus that came (MGM), got off there and then got on our CBR bus.

Two adults will not look out of place. My husband and I were there during our honeymoon and the actors were having a blast with us. I am sure I saw a few couples there besides us. Don't worry, you'll be just fine!

I'm sure if you ask and tell them that your BF has an allergy to strawberrys they can work something out. Maybe you can ask when you make your ADR, if not, then ask when you get seated.

Hi,

After the HDD is over, they have several buses waiting to take guests back to their resorts. If you were going to the earlier show, you could take the ferry back to Magic Kingdom and then take the monorail or bus back to your room. That's my preferred method for getting there! We take the bus from our resort to Magic Kingdom and get on the resort ferry to Ft. Wilderness which was the second stop last May. In fact, last time we were going to the last show and we saw Wishes! on the way to HDD. :)

Two adults would def'ly not look out of place at HDD. It appeals to everyone. You always see a good mix of people. The late show will probably have more adults.

The strawberry shortcake is excellent. They didn't offer an alternate dessert but it wouldn't hurt to ask when you make your ADR. Disney is very accomodating for things like that, so if you tell them upfront they may provide something else.

Hope this helped. Have a great time!

We are staying at POP. So if we go to the last show there will be busses to take us directly to the resort? Is this all the time or just during peak season? Thanks!

As far as I know they have busses at all times waiting to take folks to the resorts. I was amazed at how far "back" the dinner hall was from where we parked at Fort Wilderness. When we got out after the show there were lots and lots of busses waiting to take people back to the parking lot and the resorts.

When we went in Sept (2 different trips went to HDDR both times) we did the 2nd show (7:30 I think) and the 3rd show (last show of the night, 9:30 I think) and both times there were buses to take us back to our resort (ASMu & WL). Sept is probably the slowest month of the year, so its not just during peak.

There was a bus waiting to take us back to our resort after the 9:30 show in July.
As far as the strawberry shortcake I would ask them to make a note of it when I made my ADR but also when you check in at HDDR tell them. They are very accomodating as others have said. In fact, my 8 year old nephew was with us and he is a picky eater. Our server offered to bring him a peanut butter and Jelly sandwich(which is not served at HDDR). I think that they go next door to Trails End and get things to accomodate people.
*Another important thing to remember: BRING A LIGHT JACKET!!! Even if it's 90 degrees outside it will be FREEZING in Pioneer Hall where the show is performed.
