Is it worth the two credits? My DD and DGDs have never seen the show. Need to make ADR plans very soon and can't decide whether to pay OOP or use the DDP.

I paid OOP for this. It was our first night there and we just wanted to save our credits for the rest of our vacation. I booked a year before our trip and at the time I didn't know if we would be getting the dining plan and I had to pay right away (before the tiering too). I know I could have gotten a refund if I decided to use my credits but I left it OOP. I consider this a show more than a TS so for us it made sense to save our credits for other TS meals. Now with the tiering I think I would be even more convinced to pay OOP. (we sat at table 12 which was front center and it was a blast!)

I think the best question is what other table service meals do you want to do?

Last trip I paid oop for a couple of character breakfasts but turned around and then scrambled to add a couple of ts meals after changing our plans - one ts meal we really weren't in the mood for (it was late) and the other, while good, was a bit of an inconvenience.

If you are staying for 6 nights and there are 4 other meals you really want to do, then use your credits for the hoop de doo. If you already have 5 or 6 other meals in mind to book, then pay out of pocket for HDD.

The other consideration is - are you going to be okay with a category 2 or 3 seating? If no, then plan to pay oop for it because it's the only way to get a category 1.

We paid OOP for our Tier One seats in July. I wanted to make sure we had good seats and with the DDP you only get Tiers 2 & 3. I didn't want to get bad seat and have to "waste" 2TS's on it. So I put it on our Visa Checkcard, and now that's paid for too, I'm pretending that I did an "add-on" to our DDP. :rotfl2:

Yes, Just do It !!!
It is sooo fun, we had a group of 10ppl and had a blast !
I have done it 3 times and enjoyed it.....
Come on, you are at Disney World, where else could you even find an opportunity like it !!!
Enjoy !!!:dance3: :cheer2: :cheer2:

What are the different tiers? There's a downstairs and an upstairs. I'm assuming upstairs is tier 3, but where is 2 - the back section of the downstairs? Are those bad seats? Which would you prefer - back of room or upstairs? And I read on another post that said only the 9:30 show could be used with the DDP....is this true? We were hoping to go to the 7:15 show on our AK day.

We are doing the dining plan in September and want to go to the Spirit of Aloha show.

I understand that when reservations are made you have to pay in full in advance.

We are a group of 5 that want seats together. But in actuality, we are a group of 2 and 3. I know the best way to get seats together is make the reservation as one group, but I honestly don't want the charge for all 5 of us on my credit card for 8 months. I'm sure our friends don't want ours on their card either.

Will they do a split charge at reservation time??

Also, in reality how early do we need to make Luau reservations?? Do we need to do it now, or will 60 days in advance be enough?? I can book at the beginning of one billing cycle and get the credit from the Dining Plan before the bill is due that way.

If you're on the DDP, your credit card will not be charged. They will check your confirmation (hotel) and see if you're on the package. That's how it worked for CRT - I did have to leave a credit card guarantee, but the CM told me that it will be on my DDP.

CRT does not require payment in full in advance for cash customers, only a credit card guarantee. Hoop De Doo and the Luau DO require payment in full in advance. So I do believe they will make us pay in advance then credit the card back when we use the credits. Oops, never mind, I just reread Deb's site and Cindy's now does require payment in advance.

Sorry for the bad info...
