HBD or some place else?

I'm already starting plan our dining for our trip in Nov

We went to HBD last year and thought it was good, but was wondering if maybe I should switch it up and eat somewhere else for dinner at DHS?

Last year we were on the DXDP and our kids (8 and 9) were stuck with the kid menus - which they thought were bland and boring. We promised that we are going to pay oop for this trip and let them order off the grown up menu.

Does anyone have any stories about mama melrose, hollywood and vine, or another TS restaurant?

Unfortunately, the dining choices at HS aren't great. You've hit the best place in the Studio so anything else wouldn't be as good. Perhaps you'd consider dining at one of the nearby hotels (Swolphin, Boardwalk, YC/BC)? You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide.
