I understand that this costs $8.00 per person. How long is the ride? Do you have to make a PS for this? Do they have more than 1 ride going at once? And since we are going the first part of December, will there be extra "viewings" along the way? Oh one last thing, since we are staying at the WL, does anyone know how long it takes to walk the path from WL to FW and is the path lighted?

I only know one answer to your questions! The Hayride is first come first serve.

Hopefully there is someone out there that can enlighten both of us! :D

From allears.net:

Nightly wagon rides at Pioneer Hall at 7 and 9:30 p.m.- Cost $8 adults, $4 children. Depending on Magic Kingdom hours, there are sometimes special "Fireworks" wagon rides scheduled.

Hope this helps some!!! :teeth:

over on the camping board. The people over there are experts on things happening at Fort Wilderness. We have stayed in the cabins many times. But, since I am allergic to horses and hay, we have never taken the time to even let the kids do the hayride. Sorry I am no help, but the others on the camping board are always happy to help out with your questions.:wave2:

We did this year before last and it was one of the highlights of our vacation. DS and DH didn't want to go on the hayride so I and my friend did it. People start lining up before the second Hoop-dee-doo ends, so check on times. It is first come first serve but the wagon holds about 25-30 people, no hay. We were taken to the water and was able to watch the fireworks over Magic Kingdom! They even had the sound piped in!

It was so much fun for the price that I highly recommend it!

No hay?? Really? I didn't know this! I had thought about doing the hayride, but debated about it because I wasn't sure dh would go for the hay part.

If there isn't hay, do you just sit on planks or seats? So, if you have a problem with hay (allergies and such) it wouldn't present a problem?

That's right, no hay. There are wooden benches all around the sides with a double sided(back to back) bench in the middle. It's not uncomfortable at all.) I could not have done it had there been hay as I suffer from hayfever! We really enjoyed clomping thru the streets of the campsites at night!

THANK YOU!!! I am so excited to hear this (why did I never know this??!!)! Now, if we can just get there fast enough after HDDR to get seats for the ride!

Thanks again!

Several time's in early December, last year we went after 7:15 HDDR.DW and I were only one's on hayride,it was a cool evening but CM had several blankets and gave us a couple to wrap up in,so we stayed nice and warm.We went back through campgrounds and it was great to see all the RV's decorated for the holidays.CM stopped wagon in dark area and we got to see EWP.If you are going early December I don't see you having problem getting a seat. We've been on it six time's early December and the most guest's ever on wagon with us was 10 including us.::yes:: :wave2:

Woohooo thank you so much for that post. I am sure my DW will love to hear that.:wave2:
