It has been awhile since I have posted and I had said that I would keep this message updated periodically. I have had a lot of interest in this trade...so thanks to everyone!

We have purchased an oceanfront condo (not a timeshare) in Hawaii. It is about 25 minutes from the Honolulu airport in a luxury gated resort-golf course area. You can look at the ongoing construction website at kailanihawaii.com...be sure to looked at the archived photos and the aerial shots. We will be headed there on Nov. 15th to furnish and decorate and I can assure you it will be wonderful. I will have photos once we return on Dec. 11th.

This condo will be rented, but to give our fellow DVCer's a fabulous Hawaii trade option, we will be trading a stay in our condo for points. It will be 30 points per night initially, but that may increase over time as I believe this will be a very popular rental.

Aloha!

I would be very interested in discussing a trade of points for a stay in your condo. We are planning a trip to Hawaii in August of 2005 for our 20th wedding anniversary. Please contact me at wgf6002@comcast.net if you are interested.

I'm curious as to where the condo is. I can't seem to pull up the web address, it keeps saying IE 5+ required even though I'm using the Mac Version 5.2.3.

I hope you can get on another computer and look at the site. I have not ever heard of anyone not being able to pull it up.

But until then...the condo is located in a new resort area called Ko Olina and is very close to the town of Kapolei. It is about 25 minutes from the Honolulu airport in the opposite direction of Waikiki. Kapolei is mostly new development and has really grown in the last few years. Ko Olina has their own website also, but I can't recall what it is. Kai Lani is actually located in the resort and has its own gated entrance. Even though it is oceanfront, it is not beachfront. The protected sandy beach areas are just a very few minutes walk. Paradise Cove Luau is also within easy walking distance. There are two hotels in the area with Ritz Carlton making plans to build and there is a new Marriott timeshare plus two other condominium complexes that are on the 7000 acre golfcourse. One thing you immediately notice is how meticulously clean and well-kept the entire area is. It is also a very peaceful and quiet surroundings. There are also 2 of the most beautiful wedding chapels that I have ever seen onsite.

The Kai Lani development has been sold out for a couple of months and construction is not even completed! It is scheduled for completion for the middle of this January, so it is almost done.

If you do get to look at the website, the current Oct. 20th photos show a photo of the pool that says "pool and spa open" and if you look in the background you will see 3 of the condo "houses"...the one in the middle with the green roof is ours and the side that faces the pool upstairs is our condo. There should also be a nice ocean view from the balcony. The condos are actually houses that each hold 4 separate units and are built to resemble an "old Hawaii" plantation. They have granite kitchen and bathroom countertops. We have done many upgrades to ours such as stainless kitchen appliances, fabulous light fixtures, enlarged master bath shower, and tropical ceiling fans. Our unit is a 2 bedroom (both with California Kings), 2 bath and a queen innerspring sleeper sofa in the living area. It will furnished this Monday with top of the line luxurious furniture. I know everyone will love it!

I hope this helps!
