Isn't this a difficult choice? :) So which would you choose, considering you haven't been to Disney for a long time, Hawaii or Disney with your family?

Disney of course :thumbsup2
Really, I would choose Disney 'cause there's only a limited time my kids will love it (until they go thru the stage of it not being cool) - but Hawaii will always be there & as teens the kids will love to go there & lay on the beach & do nothing but hang.

We've done both quite a few times and the vote would be split. My husband, our two oldest sons and daughters in law would all pick Hawaii. My youngest son and I would pick WDW.

I'm in this situation right now! My partner and I are going to Hawaii in May and I am just not excited about it. I would rather be going to Disney! People keep asking me when I'm going to Disney this year (we go every year) and I tell them "not this year - I have to go to Hawaii instead!".

My children would choose Hawaii.

Well except my 2yo who just realized what Disney was and now thinks any time we leave the driveway, that's where we are going.

Deals occur less often for Hawaii than to WDW, so if you have an opportunity to make it happen--go to Hawaii. My kids LOVED it.

Hawaii

no, wait, WDW.

No, wait, Hawaii. I'm certain.

(We just did this same thing for our 10th Anniversary. We decided on WDW for the 10th and then Hawaii is going to be next year.

We might just alternate between the two...and then when the fine people at Disney Resorts builds at Ko Olina, I will be in HEAVEN!

Both? That's what we're doing this year. Disney on the cheap and Hawaii on the not so cheap. :cheer2:

Well, my only time in Hawaii was in early 1966 and I never left the airport since is was a refueling stop on the way to Vietnam, but from what I could see it looked like someplace I'd like to go again under different circumstances (I didn't feel quite the same about our next pit stop, Wake Island). So, all things being equal, I'd choose Hawaii, just this once. Since Walt Disney World is only an hour away by car, all things are not equal and I'd need a little more incentive to travel all the way to Hawaii.

As much as I'd like to see Hawaii, though, I suspect there's actually more to do at WDW (and there's always Ohana).

both!
thats what we did in 06.flew from the uk,to hawaii for 5 nights, then flew to florida & disneyworld, for 9 nights.it was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our DSs are 31, 28, 25, and 22. We have been going to WDW since the oldest was three. I can't think of a time when they considered it "uncool" to go to WDW, and I can guarantee that if I mentioned a WDW vacation to them, they would be packed. We went back as a family 2 years ago. Even rented a mini van. :rotfl: DS#2 said, "I never dreamed in a million years that I would be sitting in the back seat of a mini van in WDW at 26, Dad would be driving and I still wouldn't want to leave". :rotfl: We have also been to Hawaii and when we go, spend very little time just lying on the beach. We love the hiking, sailing, snorkeling, sight seeing, visiting the volcano, the museums, eating out, etc, etc. I would pick Hawaii over WDW without a doubt. WDW will always be there.

I'm with Dawn :thumbsup2
We LOVE WDW, but would choose to go to Hawaii again in a second - I believe it would be unanimous. And our trip to HI was similar to what Dawn described - very little sitting around, lots of activity

Doing both in not an option for me. That would be nice though. Wouldn't it be awesome if they have a Disney park in Hawaii? The plane ticket to Hawaii is so darn expensive! It's like a thousand pp/rt. I think it's cheaper to do WDW. I guess it boils down to which one I can afford.

I live in Hawaii so I'm biased. But I also have been visiting Disney World at least once a year for the last 16 years so I can make the comparison. There are a LOT more things to do and see in Hawaii. If you need tips on how to do Hawaii on a budget, just pm me. Start out by checking out the Hawaiian Airlines website. In January, I purchased roundtrip airfare to Seattle for $240. I've got relatives in Michigan who visit every year and most times, they fly to the west coast and then take Hawaiian to Hawaii.
