Boy is it hard to "budget" in Hawaii.
I had about $300 for 2 travel days and 4 full days in Hawaii. My plan to pack food to take along fell to the wayside as I found myself packing for a trip and evacuating for a hurricane.
Our home sustained no damage for the 2nd time around. YEAH!
My cash was used for souvenirs for DD4 who ended up having special time at grandma's, grandma, daddy, and dd2 who went along with me. It was used for food as well as some public transportation costs and admission fees where needed. I did spend an extra $50 for the extra rental car day on my sister's car so that we could drive around Oahu, and I spent $50 on their wedding dinner. They had promised to pay for my meal that evening as it was not at a budget restaurant. But evidently her new hubby is a cheapskate and agreed upon budgets prior to the trip became daily issues as he decided on the spot to save money. I decided I wanted none of that so had to pop out the cc for dinner as I didn't want to add fuel to the fire.
So I spent about $400 total which works out to $66+ per day inclusive of food/groceries/souvenirs/incidental expenses. My travel days are over for the time being and when it is time to save for another vacation vacation--I will certainly consider going over there again
And blessing of blessings with DD4. Our trip to Magic Kingdom was delayed b/c I had such a bad cold plus the rains from Ivan made for yucky weather. I took her and DD2 to MK on Thursday. We found out that she was indeed tall enough for Splash and Big Thunder Mountains. So as soon as I was dropped off at the airport, they made their way to MK. Splash was closed most of the day on Saturday--but once it was opened, she rode it 4 times and rode Big Thunder 2 or 3 times and then it was time to leave as they had closed the park early. The growth spurt came just in time
Just wanted to update everyone and it was much easier to do a new thread.
Hope all is well with everyone.
