Having Trouble Settling on a Resort

Ok, completely unable to decide where to stay. Traveling May 26-June 2 with a party that is (according to Disney) 4 adults, two of whom are older kids ages 21 and 18, and one child (14 year old). Currently booked one room at the Polynesian with a garden view. Room alone is $2915. We could (1) keep the Polynesian (which I really like) or (2) switch to Beach Club with a single room or Port Orleans with 2 rooms for about $600-700 less for either option. We'll spend the most time at MK (at least one evening EMH, probably two, as well as a full day), and a full day at Epcot, AK, and HS, with perhaps another half day at AK or Epcot. We'll have one day hanging out at the resort/pool. That extra $600-700 could go towards food/souvenirs (or back in my bank account). I've pretty much eliminated the one room option at Port Orleans - those trundle beds are not meant for a 14 year old and that's a pretty cramped space for basically 5 adults.

Last trip we stayed at Poly with 4 adults and that was fine (our oldest son couldn't go last time). Any thoughts on how a standard room at Beach Club would be for 5 adults?

I really, really dislike Disney buses, which is why I'm pretty hesitant to stay at French Quarter (though we've stayed at POR in the past). I also am a big fan of being able to monorail to MK or Epcot.

For 5 adults, I would definitely go with the Poly as the rooms are much larger than at the BC. The BC is a beautiful resort and we had a great stay, but we just love the Poly for several reasons, including the tropical atmosphere and being so close to MK. Plus the Poly has Captain Cooks, which is great for quick CS meals or snacks. During our BC stay, we found the buses to be horrible. We didn't let it ruin our trip, but the BC bus was shared with the YC, BWI, and Swan/Dolphin, which made for the buses being very crowded. On the other hand, it is very convenient being within walking distance to Epcot and DHS. With all that said, every resort has its downfalls and the BC is a great resort, but my choice would be the Poly without hesitation. Good luck :wizard:.

I agree with Mickeynut1 the Poly rooms are larger. I would request the Tokelau building it has the largest rooms. I am not sure how Club level at one of the epcot resorts would compare in price to Poly gv, but the lounge would give you some extra space to hang out in.

I would lean toward the two room option. I love the poly, but with 5 people, one sink and no seperate vanity/ shower, getting ready would be a pain. Have you considered the CR? It has the biggest rooms of all.

I personally would go for two rooms, beacause of space, privacy, and the extra bathroom.

Have fun deciding.

:)

I would go with the poly, but request one of the updated rooms. I believe they have two sinks.
