We were heading down to Disneyland tomorrow and staying at HOJO until Sun with my sister and her kids. They have NEVER been to Disneyland! Unfortunately, with the weather forecast and a lack of money, we just can't swing it right now. Her kiddos are just getting over a nasty cold and its probably not the best time to run around in the rain right before Christmas. Not to mention that I slightly overspent for Christmas this year and my budget for the trip is almost non-existent. :scared1:

We're shooting for a trip in late January before my AP passes expire. Hopefully I will have an end of year bonus to spend by then!

Any thoughts on a late January trip? Good time to go? I know the hours will be shorter, no Christmas, but how about crowds?

I'm pretty bummed right now :sad1:

January is really quiet except for MLK weekend and the spill over from Xmas. But the parks do have a lot of rehabs starting then too and hours are shorter.

The main street repaving starts on the 18th. Not sure how that'll effect main street other than the cars and such that run down it beign closed. And splash closes then as well.

I'm going Jan 10-11. Seems like there will be minimal crowds (from what other DISers have said) and IASW holiday will still be open, according to Disneyland official website. Haunted Mansion holiday will be closed, as well as Grizzly River Run in DCA. I think those were the main two things that were scheduled the last I checked. I think they are also doing some work on the Rivers of America. I also read that the removal of the CALIFORNIA letters and the Golden Gate bridge start getting on the 4th.
It does seem like Jan is full of refurbs, but I feel like going before MLK weekend will get you less refurbs.

According to Mouseplanet most refurbs begin around Jan 18.

Also, checking the past two years weather, the time around Jan 10 has been in the 70s (here's hoping it stays that way when I'm there! haha)
Have fun!
