Having the "we need more points" bug REALLY BAD!

I might well be.

But with only 15 years of vacations left, the big question for me is can I get in to BWV often enough to satisfy that wish, and save my addonitis for a resort with more life left 🤔
I only stayed in a garden view and loved it. That boardwalk view though, it may require owning

It's at Epcot hahah. Originally we were going to do it in World Celebration but I really am not a fan of the giant obnoxious pink flowers they have up behind figment for flower and garden so we opted for Japan instead. Reception at California Grill. Fireworks at Poly.

Spending an unholy amount of DVC points in a span of 5 days as we booked a 1BR at RIV for my wife's family for 5 nights, a 2BR at RIV for my family for 5 nights, a 2BR at RIV for us and our wedding party for 2 nights, a grand villa at RIV for the remaining 3 nights, and a bungalow for 1 night just so everyone can hang out and watch the fireworks. A total of over 930 points over the span of 5 nights. But I wouldn't have been able to do it without DVC 😬
Omg I know we don’t actually all know each other but I feel like you mentioned your Disney wedding and your RIV plans so long ago, I can’t believe it’s finally here! Aw yay Dis family wedding- congratulations! Hope it’s nothing short of pure magic 💫 🍾

Aw thank you so much, I know.. it feels like only yesterday Mickey Mouse took my money for the deposit.. 😂 but seriously it should be a lot of fun seeing family and friends I haven't seen in years because of school, work etc. I just wish the surgery didn't prevent me from going on roller coasters with them because I am a pretty big roller coaster junkie 😭 oh well. Thankfully I love stuff like Carousel of Progress, People Mover, Living with the Land and Spaceship Earth and etc.

Sounds like an amazing time! Congratulations!!

Wishing you a speedy recovery. With a name like "Intamin" I imagine you LOVE coasters, but it's nice WDW has plenty to offer 👍

I am hoping that Vekoma HQ in Orlando means a lot more coasters for WDW

Yeah I really do but as I got older, I came to appreciate theming and story telling just as much if not more. I'm sad that Cedar Fair well now Six Flags I guess no longer really does business with Intamin but I hope Universal continues to give projects to Intamin. I do enjoy the newer vekomas as well. The technology on rides like F.L.Y. in Phantasialand is impressive and I hope they continue to innovate.

The Cedar Fair/Six Flags "merger" just seems so sad! So many parks closing and attractions going away forever! Uni did use Intamin for Hiccup's Wing Gliders, right? Stardust Racers isn't though. I think that's the same as SDD which was a strange change for WDW. F.L.Y. looks cool and isn't it rumored that will be what the Monsters, Inc. door coaster is going to be based on?

Yeah Uni did. Stardust is made by MACK. Idk any other parks that regularly works or is willing to work with Intamin, maybe Busch Gardens/SeaWorld would be open to it down the line. I imagine the launches will be based on the F.L.Y. technology but since Monsters is not a flying coaster and more of an inverted they just have to slightly tweak it so that way the ride rotates riders to face forward although that's actually a much easier feat I think than what they've already done for the transition from seated to flying and shouldn't be an issue.

15 years though. That's tough to swallow for me.
These 2042 resorts would have to blow my mind to get me to buy, I think.

I know I’ve said this before but IMO the sweet spot for BWV is using the points regularly during a high point season. I use my contract for Spring Break - staying at any other resort (on my list anyway!) would require many more points. So the 2042 expiration is kind of perfect - bc by that point, I won’t be limited to travel during this week anymore.

When I compare what I paid for BWV (vs Swan/Dolphin, rack rates with a discount…which you wouldn’t get during Spring Break anyway), I come out ahead.

I definitely wouldn’t want a heavy 2042 portfolio, but to complement one with longer expirations/specific use cases it definitely works!
