Having second thoughts

I recieved a trade request from another trader via pinpics. At first the trade looked good and so I sent an email to the other trader asking if she still wanted to trade. So far so good, right? Well, I then get another email from the other trader with a list of conditions that had to be met. To be honest, it kind of reminded me of some of the stories others have told on this board regarding bad traders.

Now I'm not so sure this trade is a good idea. Can someone out there please PM me with the names of some of the bad traders out there so I can decide whether or not I really want to trade with this other person? Other than a couple of McD's Happy Meal toys that never arrived, I've had pretty good luck trading online and I'd hate to have someone spoil it for me now.

I haven't had that many trades go bad myself, but I have stopped a trade when I felt uncomfortable. If your idea doesn't work, suggest a third party trade (you both send your pins to a third party who waits until both pins arrive and then sends them on) sometimes this helps with the bad feeling. If they say no, then perhaps the trade wasn't so good after all. But it is okay to say no thanks in a trade, even after you have started it, if you don't like the way things are going!

..............if you have simply changed your mind about the trade because of the conditions this person is putting on the trade, I would simply say that to the person. Give them your apologies, but you prefer not to trade under the conditions they are setting. That is so within the parameters of "trading etiquette". If you still want the trade but are uneasy, follow Joy's advice and try the 3rd party route.

I say go with your instincts. The fact that you are asking for advice on this trade seems to indicate that maybe you shouldn't do this swap. It is possible you might be dealing with someone who has obsessive compulsive disorder.
Even with a 3rd party holding the pins the other person might still find something wrong and cause you a lot of hassles. If you are a gambler and the pins that you want are pretty hard to find then consider what you might lose if the deal goes bad. Just my opinion. Please let us know what happens if you attempt this trade. Good luck.

BTW we had pin trading last night in Streamwood, IL.
If I remember correctly you don't like to trade in person, right?
Well, if you ever change your mind we will be trading again on Aug 13.
We are a pretty friendly bunch of people but I said no to several trades last night with no hard feelings. I came home with about 10 new pins.
No postage, mailers, bubble wrap, or trips to the post office. No e-mail
negotiations. No waiting for the pins to arrive. I do trade pins on pin pics as do several others of my pin trading friends. Anyway I just wanted to let you know that the invitation
to meet the Windy City Pin Traders is still open to you and anyone else
who can make it to Streamwood every 2nd Wed of the month. 6-8:30PM.
