Originally we were going to purchase DVC through Disney so we made a deposit on our visa for 750.00 to get the ball rolling. As the papers were being mailed to us we decided we wanted more points, so we had a new contract drawn up and put an extra $1,300 or so down. We never signed a thing as we decided that we wanted VWL to be our home resort and took the resale route. The problem is Disney only credited our $1,300 deposit back. By the way they claim they don't show the refund, but my statement does. The problem is they don't show the original 750.00 down maybe because there was a new contract? I spoke to three different departments today each one said I needed to speak to the other I ended up at someones voicemail. All I want is my deposit credited to my account. I have the reciept from that transaction they sent me. Does anybody have any ideas of how I can get my refund or know who I actually need to contact at Disney? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would call Quality Assurance, Member Accounting and Member Administration.

They usually are pretty good about refunding deposits.

It shouldn't matter that it was a different contract. They should be able to look up your deposit by whatever the contrat number was when you made the deposit.

I'm sorry this is happening to you. Maybe someone can direct you to someon "higher up" who can get this resolved for you.

Do you need the number for any of the departments named above.

If you never signed anything, then there should be no reason you missed any deadlines to cancel and your money should be refunded to you as soon as you cancel.

Did you cancel in writing?

No I didn't cancel in writing, but it was my understanding that if I did not sign a thing and if the documents were not returned signed within 7 days the contract was null and void.

I believe you are correct.

If you didn't sign anything then there is no reason for them to be holding your money.

If you had signed something I believe you have 15 days after you sign to cancel.

Have you talked to any of the depts. mentioned above?

Do you have the paperwork from both of your contracts?

We had to send a e-mail to our guide in order to get our refund. We hadn't signed anything either.

Hope things work out for you

couple years ago we gave a cash deposit for disney vacation club, and when we got home and decided that the interest rate was to high, we called the disney financing department and told them that this wasnt the best time to purchase, we were told a refund check will be in th mail within 2 weeks, we received it in a week.:sunny:

If your bill becomes due before they issue the credit, file a dispute with Visa, that way you will not have to pay interest on the amount in dispute.

Thanks for all your help! I'll be back on the phone today to try and get it staightened out! Wish me luck!

My other thought is to FAX them a copy of the VISA statement where the charge appears. That will show them some proof that there was a $750 charge to your account.

Definitely contact the credit card issuing bank and dispute the charge. That puts the burden of proof on Disney.
Good Luck!!
