Having my gallbladder out NYE at 3pm!

Taking it easy is gonna be the hardest thing for me. I am no good at doing nothing.

Today I have rested in bed and gotten up and walked around in the house several times.

Thank goodness I have a lap top I can use in bed.

I had an attack on Christmas day, went to the ER (had NOT idea what it was) and had the surgery on Sunday. They sent me home first thing Monday.

I am not doing too well, however. I'm not a super woman like all of the others here. I walk daily but the pain isn't going away. The surgeon said I had a lot of infection at the surgery, so maybe that is why I'm not healing as fast.

FWIW, Handbag Lady, I believe that there is more than one way to have this surgery, and the way it's done determines how quickly you bounce back. If your gallbladder was infected, your surgery was the more invasive kind.

Is the pain exactly the same or is it getting at least a little better each day? If it's the same or worse, I'd definitely call the doctor and let him know.

My surgery was on Monday and today is the first day I felt like leaving the house. I've spent the past week put-putting around in my pjs. My incision sites are tender to the touch but I don't have any more pain. I had it done laproscopically though.

I'm so jealous of you guys! I had mine out in 1989, and back then it was the full-belly incision. I was in the hospital for like 5 days!

OP, glad that you're feeling better, if not well. Believe me, life after gallbladder is AWESOME! I still remember how bad those attacks hurt.
