I am having Lasik today. If you have a moment to spare a good thought, can you send one my way? I wasn't nervous at all, but now I am. Only got two peepers..... I am supposed to go in at 1220. Only supposed to take a few minutes. WIsh it was this am! LOL.

Thanks all. I'll update later today.

Cathy

Had it done last summer. It was so easy and fast. Don't worry.
It was the best thing I did for myself.

THanks Karen!! I KNOW it will be fine. I do.... :)
And the fact that it will be over in seconds helps ;) I will just be glad when it is over.

You will be fine!

I had it done last May. I was fine until I got to the office and they just kept saying "Oh it will only be a few more minutes". Two hours later I was furious and ready to walk out the door. However, once I got on the table and had the procedure I was fine. The actual surgery literally takes almost no time at all and I am thrilled with the results. Be prepared, though, that in most cases it takes a little bit of time for your vision to clear. I was kind of frustrated for the first day or so because of the cloudiness. Within about three days my vision was perfect.

The doctor told me that I should not expect clear vision at first. I am coming home and going to bed. He told me I could go back to work tomorrow though (but I have the day off). I am in hopes that I can watch tv (clearly) without my specs tomorrow! LOL.
I have to go back for a check up in the am and again next week.

Thanks. You are making me feel better :)

Good luck today! You are going to love not wearing glasses. I was very nervous prior to having the procedure but it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Thanks. I am very nervous now. I KNOW it will be fine. I KNOW it will. :thumbsup2 Thanks.

Let us know how it goes. I would LOVE to have LASIK done, but our insurance doesn't cover it. Going to school right now, so no extra money to have it done. I have heard nothing but good results from ones that have done it, so I am sure everything will be fine. Stay positive!!!!

Our insurance doesn't cover it either, but we get a discount. And I use my flex plan at work so it is pre tax dollars :)

Congratulations!! You are going to love being able to look up in the night and see what time it is, to see the clarity of the leaves on the trees, and to not have to mess with regular glasses or contacts anymore. When I had mine done, I splurged and bought myself a pair of cool sunglasses. It's nice to be able to wear regular sunglasses.

Just think about something that makes you feel warm and fuzzy while you are in the room having it done. I thought about my dog, and it helped a lot.

:wizard: Good luck! Someday I REALLY want to get the surgery (my eyes aren't too bad, but I just want to get rid of contacts and glasses!), but I'm going to have to wait a bit longer due to financial constraints. Let us know how it went! :cool1:

How about pina coladas on a warm beach somewhere? LOL.

Thanks. I will. I have already bought a cool pair of sunglasses!!

Good! I did have a momentary problem with the loss of sight when they did the flap thing and had to make them stop..... quite embarrassing, but I made it thru.
I can see my TV very well. Am probably going to need cheaters for reading, but we will see. I am thrilled so far!!
Thanks again everyone!!!

Glad it went well!

What do you mean by the flap thing? I don't know a whole lot about it apparently, but I have been thinking about having it done.

They didn't warn you about the blackout? They actual told me that was going to happen. Now that you are done - wasn't the creepiest part when they squeegy the airbubbles out of the corneal flap??? That and the burnt hair smell of the laser. I am glad you are happy and hopefully you won't need the reading glasses!

May I ask those that have had it done, what does it roughly cost? My eyesight is just horrible. I would love so much to be at a water park & be able to find DH in the crowd of skin colored blobs. :rotfl: To be able to wake up & read the time on the alarm clock. Well, maybe not that last one ;) , but you get the idea.

Congrats. I'm so happy for you and jealous of course. :goodvibes

I paid $3000 but that is because they misquoted and I held them to their original numbers. It should have been $4000. That is for both eyes, by the way.

I'm glad everything went well for you. :goodvibes

I need to get this done, but I haven't worked up the guts yet.:scared1:
