we recently moved so the last time I used my tablet was about 10 months ago

so now Im trying to get my tablet running again
I ve airplane mode off like it said to do in the help area
we kept the same internet provider that we had at the old house
I think its the user ID is what we had at the house only change the house number--I cant remember if that was automatic or if we changed it--Im leaning more to it was automatic

so now when I try to connect to WIFI I get a message
authentication problem
doenst say what the problem is

any ideas on why this is happening or how to call to get it fixed

I posted here that I was having some issues all of a sudden with some sites I go on
ATT came and told us the wiring could be old and since we live in a condo they cant do anything--and why not whether its a house or condo its still there wiring--worked great the first 9 months we lived here--
he said the signal was good

all this is so fustrating

Even though you have the same internet provider, do you have the same (and I mean the exact same, in that you packed it up at the hold house, brought it to the new house and set it up) router/access point?
Assuming not, there's probably a new SSID (the name of the device you connect to) and/or a new password to connect to it.

Contact your internet service provider.

If the old access point isn't there and you try to connect to it, that would be one reason why you're having the problem.
If the password has changed, that could also explain it.

I used my phone. Which once in a while those sites I mentioned before I can use on my phone but it doesn’t work all the time and it’s not easy to use

Your service provider doesn't matter, your SSID and WPA2 key matter and if you have a new router both likely changed. First and foremost whatever your service provider had you set as change it. You never want to keep your defaults and that goes for the router admin password as well.

You may need to plug into the router to go into the settings and update the SSID and WPA2 key.

On your tablet, click on Settings. Click on Wifi. Look at the list of networks it brings up to connect to. It locate yours, click on it and in the pop up, click on Forget, (or Properties then Forget.) Close the Wifi & Settings.

Go back in to Settings and WiFi, click on your network again and enter your password. See if that resets things and connects you.

Yes, you'd use the yellow ethernet cable to do this. You have one somewhere. We all do, or we wouldn't have been able to set up the Wifi the first time. You connect it to your computer as it will have an ethernet port. Tablets usually don't have one.

You're referring to the OLD network, correct (assuming OP sees more than one).

It does not have to be a yellow ethernet cable. The color of the cable doesn't matter. It might matter what port you plug it into though. Tell us the manufacturer & model number of your router/access point and we can give you more details.
