Hi, does anyone know the procedure for having an overnight guest at the resorts? I will be having a cousin visit while at CB and she would like to spend the night. Do you think she should call ahead or just go to the desk upon arrival and let them know she will be staying, and pay the fee for a third person?
Thank you

Can't wait, leaving Friday bright and early. :cool1:

Sorry, I don't know the answer but interested to find out too! :confused3

Since she will just be the 3rd person and you will still be under the limit, there will be no problem. You should call the desk and have her added. If she wants to go to the parks with you, she will need a room key to use EMH.

Youd have to be a fool to add her to the room. Disney will not know (or care) if she stays with you. To pony up the extra fee is tantamount to throwing money into the wind...it cost the company no more or less if there are three or two people in a room..Dont let the morality police get to you. I once was on a trip where we met some girls and they spent ther night....7 people in one room at the ASSports and no one knew or cared

Well as always you have the official policy and those that think they are above it. :confused3

Since the reservation is in your name you need to let the Front Desk know you will be having an additional guest and on which night. It is up to them to decide whether to charge you the additional adult charge.

If your guest wishes to go to Early Entry or Extra Magic Hour with you, you will need to let the desk know so you can get a resort ID for her.

You would not be a fool for doing what is right and very possibly Disney will not charge you.

The correct thing to do is tell the front desk about your guest and let them decide if she will have to pay.

We have done this many times with visiting cousins. Their parents go back to their off site hotel, and the kids stay with us. To be honest, I never even though of paying for them, and probably wouldn't have offered if i did know. The cousins are Florida residents, so they don't get to do EE, but we just go to a non EE park that day. (they only can't do EE just because they choose to stay offsite.)

We always treat it as a neat way for all of the cousins to bond together. They don't see each other as much as they would like anyway. I guess I would pay for them if I had to, but who really cares about a couple of more kids piled into a room?

This is exactly what we will do. I would never consider not letting the front desk know.

Thank you all for your answers.

Gosh, I guess I have never thought of calling someone a fool who does the right thing. :confused3

To the OP-I have read many posts that when someone does go to the front desk and let them know about an extra person, which is of course the policy, they do not end up with the extra charge anyway. Have a great time.

If they are children under the age of 18 & you are in your "legal" room size limit, you do not have to pay extra for them.. Why do ou say they don't get to go to EE because they're FL residents. If you are staying in one of the resorts & have a pass (resident or not) you can go, that is providing you have a room key with your name on it. We are residents and have SAP's, when we stay onsite, we can go to the extra magic hours.

If there is one adult & 2 children staying in a room that legally holds 5, and say 2 cousins join them, then no one should care who is in the room..they are within the legal limit & you do no have to pay for under 18. Yes, the front desk should be told of it to have the correct info onfile, but other than that.. why should you care....they would all be legal. I know I have gone as the only adult with my 2 daughters & 2 of their friends.. what is the difference if it is me & 2 or me & 4..we are still all legal. I don't mean to sound as if I am getting on you but your answer makes no sence to me.... unless there is say 7 or 8 kids in the room then yeah.. the surrounding rooms would care... but we do not know how many she is talking about...

Yup. Besides, it's safer to report them. Heaven forbid something horrible should happen and they'd go unaccounted for.

If you are going to have an over night guest & it will only make your party size 3, there is nothing to worry about. Just let the front desk know the day she arrives that way if they are going to charge you, they only charge for the one night & not your entire stay. If she has a car, she will want a parking pass for it as well. They will give that to you to when you tell them she is coming. hope you all have a great time.... :flower:

The "a couple of more kids PILED into a room" was what made me think they were over their room limit. Plus other posts this poster has written says she has three kids.

If they are not, not a problem, other than letting Disney know about the additional room occupants for safety reasons.

And if they are over the limit and don't get the "cousins" room IDs, then they can't go to EMH, whether they are FL residents or not.

Just to clarify everything, I am the OP and my sister and I are going to be sharing a room at CBR. We are both adults and our cousin who will be visiting is also an adult and a Florida resident (lucky her). She has a resident annual pass so she is all set there.

A Mickeyfan, thank you for bringing up the car issue, she will have her car and I hadn't even given it a second thought.

Again, thanks to all.

When my sister and my mom joined my son and me last year at POR, we told the front desk when they arrivedl and were not charged the extra $ per day. I might have asked them what to do when I checked in the day before, but don't remember for sure. They issued the extra keys and we were able to do the EE at the parks.
