I really appreciate it and your quick responses are exactly why I have found this board to be so helpful. I guess well have to remember to keep our little guys key with us when we head to the pool - just in case!
I certainly did not mean to begin a debate - I was just looking for a little information. While I do take exception to being regarded as rude simply for considering that we bring my 3 year old son's friend and parents to the pool, I realize that these boards are built on people expressing their opinions and that is what makes them valuable, right?
Thanks again to you all for taking the time to answer my question~!
Doctor P said:I resent being asked to chill. If the OP's three year old son want to spend time with his friend and the friend's parents at a pool there is ample opportunity to do so--it's called Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. If DVC members (especially those who own at BCV) cannot pool hop to BCV/SAB, I certainly don't think day guests should be allowed even under the scam of getting extra room keys. And the boards are full of people who post their scams hoping that the mob mentality and group think will endorse their naughty behavior. Whether it is or isn't "against the rules" should not be the sole question--it's a matter of ethics and decency. No pay, no play.
To me it's a gray area. I think one could make the argument that inviting guests is a common practice of people on vacation, especially in Orlando, and thus is use by the guests. To me, there would have to be a policy that specifically addresses this issue to alter my interpretation. And it'd need to be in writing or at least consistently quoted. Just because one CM or even manager type says something does not make it true or accurate. AAMOF, I wouldn't give much more credence to an ISOLATED statement by one manager than I would a DVC member at the pool. I'll reference the discussion we had a few months back where the CM quoted the "quiet pool" as meaning you should be quiet. Saying it does not make it so. How many times have we all heard CM, MS, guide's or businesses on the phone say things that ended up not being accurate? Unfortunately, too many times to count.Deb & Bill said:There are signs posted at each WDW pool that states that the pool is for the exclusive use of the guests of that resort - not necessarily the guests of the guests. I suppose it is how you interpret the sign. Plus ask for permission first.

You do know there are people that get like a studio at BW or BC for 5 nights excluding weekends then actually stay off property with say 8-12 guests. They use the room as a place to crash during the day, store things and as an access to the pool. They frequently use valet parking to access the system as their park parking. I don't know how widespread it is but I know a number of people have done it this way in some form or another. One variation has a couple of people staying in the room and the rest off site. IMO, Disney should police the pools far better than they do. If they do not, Pool Hopping will be gone forever. We've already seen SAB removed and almost a yearly increase in the number of blackout times. We're up to 7 now totally about 2 months of the year.Doctor P said:While philosophically I may still have an issue with it in many cases, I think it is impossible to squawk very loud if somebody registers the guests as occupants of their room, gets room keys for the guests, and stays under the occupancy limits of the room. As someone posted earlier, I certainly would not argue with someone having overnight guests officially signed into their room as long as they don't exceed the occupancy limits. It's the other situations that have been discussed that would be more of an issue.
Interesting response.Doctor P said:I'm sorry, I think it is rude to even consider bringing guests to SAB given the restrictions on pool hopping, etc. Though the quiet pools at BCV have similar restrictions, personally I would have less problem with guests (up to your room limit) there.
