Hi everyone!

We leave on 12/3 for our first family trip to WDW. We are staying at AKL. I can't wait!!!! My question. . .

We will be arriving in Orlando approx. 10:30am. We will be picked up by a transportation service who will do a grocery stop for us. Is it safe for me to buy refrigerated items? Will Bell Services store them for us if our room is not ready? I am assuming our room won't be ready. It won't be many items. . . small container of milk, half-n-half, yogurt. That is about it. So what do you think?

Thanks!

This service just blows me away, everytime I read a confirmation of it. Super -- just super.

I have done this many times. I did have a bad experience once. I do now bring with me neon pink and green labels. One says refrigerator & one says freezer. I affix it to both sides of the applicable bags to avoid an error. No problems since. (I will say no problem the first 1/2 dozen times but once is enough for me to be a little more cautious.)

We've had especially great experiences storing groceries (and other luggage) at AKL.

The tip about the stickers is a good one. We had a ton of refrigerated items (yougurt, milk, lunchmeat etc.) after a grocery stop when we checked into the Poly. I asked the bellman to please refrigerate 2 bags and showed him which ones (I hung them on the bellman cart). I gave him a nice tip and went on my way.About an hour later I needed something from one of my suitcases. The bellman sent me to the storage area where I found everything exactly as I left it. Nothing refrigerated. They were very apolgetic... and offered to replace everything. Mistakes happen and I didn't make a great big deal of it. Most of the items still felt cold and it wasn't a complete loss. But we didn't check in until 3:30pm so if I had found them then it would have been bad. Anyway I found that I really didn't need all that stuff anyway. Next time I think I will just ship bottled water, diapers, adult beverages etc to the resort and get the fresh stuff from the food service. Have a great time!
