Having dilemma on what cruise line to book

So we decided to go with the Harmony of the Seas. Work gave me the days off (I just can't get sick the rest of the year lol) and since it was a lot cheaper than Disney with more days we decided to go with that option. So I'll probably hop over to the Royal Caribbean board since I have a lot of questions. My biggest concerns are keeping track of the kids and being able to get in touch with them while on the boat.

Good luck, I’m sure you’ll have a blast!

The Disney itenerary in question is a double dip to castaway cay, depending on what your looking for, that could be a “better” itenerary than a 7 night.

Hard to tell. OP didn't mention itinerary. I find that Grand Cayman is a nice substitute for Castaway Cay and haven't experimented Royal's private islands. Cam't compare. :)

I did like that there was a double dip, but the stops for the cruise weren't the most important part to me. The kids have done Nassau and Castaway Cay a bunch of times so seeing other islands will be unique for them.

I understand and support your decision, and likely would have made the same decision you did. I just refute that a 7 night itenerary must be “better” than a 4 night double dip. To many people it’s not.

I knew it was a double dip due to it being over 4th of July week. If you can’t compare why did you state the 7 night itenerary would be “better”.

That's true, I did like Disney's itinerary and the one for Royal doesn't really wow me, but for half the cost when I have a lot of expenses coming up it just made the most sense. I do have 24 hours to change my mind lol, but I probably won't.

I said "better" because it's the Bahamas vs other caribbean islands. But you are 100% right as it is a matter of taste. I've just liked the other caribbean islands I've visited more than Nassau. :)

I think Castaway Cay is wonderful... but is it worth spending 4000$ more just to be there twice? (for that price, I could get a whole 2nd DCL Bahamas cruise).

What is the itinerary? (And have you been there before?)

I answered your question in my last reply (to you). :)

It goes to LABADEE, HAITI; FALMOUTH, JAMAICA; and COZUMEL, MEXICO

I've been to Jamaica and Mexico, Labadee is their private island (although I don't think it's an island) I've never been there. The kids haven't been to any of these places so it'll be all new for them. And there are three sea days

I think you'll have a great time. I heard a lot of good things about Labadee. It's on my "to do list". Oh and I'm 100% jealous of you right now. :bounce:

I've done Jamaica and Cozumel on my last cruise. :) If you are in the season, I would highly recommend the "Save a sea turtle experience" in Cozumel. It was AMAZING.

Thank you :) I am excited for this trip. When would it be in season? That does sound like a lot of fun

I think it starts late June (until the end of October). It's amazing really. You empty the nest in order to find baby turtles and then, you release them to the sea, making sure there are no predators around. It's a conservation program. You get a little certificate in the end.

LOVE DCL, but not enough to pay that kind of money for so short a cruise. We are lucky in that we can plan way ahead and book when prices are first released. I am amazed at how quickly and how much the prices increase for DCL. We are doing the ten night Norwegian Fjords and Iceland, and the cost is nearly double what we paid if we were to book now.

That sounds awesome I'll definitely look into it :)

Their prices do go up quickly. It was a last minute idea of mine to do this cruise for the kids, so pretty much stuck with the prices
