Having bday cake troubles

I recently decided to have my children's cake at the hotel, All Star Movies. I have been trying to figure out how to get a cake delivered or how to order one at Movies and I could pick it up. I have called the Movies bakery and I got an answering machine, left a message but have not heard back. It is not an emergency or anything, I still have 99 days but I just want to get everything done while I am thinking of it. Soo, how do I order a cake to have at the resort? We have an 11:20 ADR at Chef Mickey and a 5:05 at Tony's (MNSSHP) but I really wanted to do it a little more privately at the hotel. We are doing nothing during the day except CM to try to rest up for the party that night. I thought having cake and presents would help pass the afternoon a little. Any thoughts?

You could order the Mickey face cake from the BW bakery (24 hours early) and pick it up on your way back to your room.

Please pardon my ignorance but where is the BW bakery? Does the Contemporary have a bakery? If they did I could order one there and get it after our brunch at CM.

Sorry about that. The BW is the Boardwalk Bakery at the Boardwalk resort. I do not believe the Contemporary has a bakery but the the Grand Floridian does. You need to call a few days early to reserve a cake. You can get there by the monorail. Call them now and see if they can make you a cake to go. The GF bakery is very swamped with cakes so the BW bakery is helping them.

My DH had a birthday cake delivered to the room through room service (WL) for my birthday - I know AS doesn't have room service, but I assume they have desserts in their CS restaurant - my cake was ordered the day before it was delivered, so I assume they are used to doing last minute things like this. I would just check with them when I arrived and order it then.

Are you driving? I was just going to order mine from walmart or publix. I had actually considered getting a cool one from Disney but they were so expensive and I really think she would have been much happier with the one from publix with whatever kit on it. We decided not to order a cake at all. We did get one for free at the Garden Grill as our table's desert.

Also, the bakeries don't do any special ordering prior to 2 weeks out. they prefer it closer to the date of the event like 48 hrs.

We tried for a small cake with the castle on top. We went to the BW bakery 5 days early and we were told no can do, they wanted 7-10 days notice. Now the Mickey head cake order was taken then.

That is the one we tried for and were told they needed 7-10 days to get the castle made. At the CG you would order it from the GF bakery. I am not sure they deliver anymore.

Someone mentioned a cake with characters from the haunted mansion. Does anyone know where you can get that cake? My DD will be celebrating her 10th birthday on Halloween and I would love to get a haunted mansion cake for her. We are having her dinner at O'Hana's. Do I have to pick up the cake somewhere or will they deliver it to the restaraunt? Thanks for any info!
