I thought that would help you decide :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :upsidedow

Even with all those scary people like you...I better stick with SL. I forgot about the $$ for my VIP Tour Guide.

I am just hoping for a tower room:cool1:

I have been emailing Calvin in the IPO office and have been super nice...maybe that will help.

$1400 is a lot of money. HOWEVER you are talking about an 8-night stay, not a weekend getaway ;)
I personally don't want to think about dealing with the dining plan, whether it is "free" or not.
I can say from experience that a CL stay is different from a standard stay. These days about half our stays are concierge and half are not. We were just at Poly GV in April and it was awesome but apples and oranges from our August RPC stay princess: Just having a lounge to relax in sometimes and assorted food and bev. available throughout the day makes it more of a vacation every time :thumbsup2 My CL trips tend to be more relaxed and more decadent. Keeping track of credits and snacks, etc. sounds like a different kind of trip. RPC is very beautiful and luxurious IMO and if I were you I would be tempted to save the money but would really WANT to keep things as they are princess:

Dont let Brook scare you off ladies shes a riot!!
I spend so much time chatting with Chan lately on the phone my DH says I should just take the boys and go meet her at the GF. :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Oh great now people are going to want autographs and I am going to have to hire that VIP tour guide the entire week to beat off my fans:laughing:

Who is your contact for the VIP tour? My email contact is Glorimar but my actual guide is Carolyn.

Heck...I do not know yet. They thought I was a CRAZY lady and told me to call back in August to book. I already put it on my calendar. I am going to start calling at the beginning of August so all those rich people in RPC don't get booked before I do (totally kidding:) )

You will have to let me know how you like your guide. If she does well with your humor then I think she will be great for our family.

So I get to be the lab rat right, huh? I see where this is going :cool2:

For me, the guide thing ranked higher than RPC.... but Channing will come over here and bash on my head because I said that :rotfl2:

....I just stepped away for a minute. Just wait...if you wind up getting upgraded to RPC you will understand the beauty of it all. :wizard: You'll be hooked. They make you feel like family up there - only better...you know the loved kind of family. :goodvibes

Linda, for a nice relaxing vacation RPC is wonderful. It's such a peaceful retreat from the crowds. In the summer heat you will want to spend more time at the resort than out in teh crowded, hot parks. The RPC CMs are terrific & service is excellent. :) Another thing....I don't know about you but the heat in FL summers zaps away my appetite...we always do table service restaurants for lunch and dinner and in our summer trips we waste a lot of food....we just cannot eat it. I am with Johnsonet...counting credits etc and making all those set in stone ADRs would break me. I cannot be held to that tight a schedule on vacation.

:)

That is IT!! NO HEAD BASHING! Channing must be in a good mood...is your dryer working now;)

I am just being sour grapes on ya ;)

I just looked at the SL lounge pics at all ears ...looks like typical concierge type fixins to me :confused3

dang it, it looks like we are going to have to bail Mr. mike out of Disney jail :rotfl2:

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Money was found missing from a Garda armored truck on Disney property. The robbery happened behind the Grand Floridian Hotel on Grand Floridian Way early Tuesday morning.

Employees of the Garda Security Company notified Disney security of the robbery early Tuesday morning after the Orange County Sheriff's Office received a call about the incident. Deputies responded to the call around 3:00am.

Investigators said that three occupants of the armored vehicle noticed one of the doors was left open on the truck and an undisclosed amount of money was missing.

After a thorough investigation of the incident, detectives arrested Johnnie Bernard Leonard, Jr., one of the armored vehicle occupants, in connection with the robbery. Investigators believe that Leonard had made previous arrangements with two accomplices prior to the delivery.

Detectives said the two other occupants of the armored truck were not involved in the incident.

Wednesday, investigators located two other suspects and were questioning them.

Just wanted to add that I'm another one that's not interested in the dining plan and we always pay OOP. My DH hates counter service meals and when I explained the DP to him when it was first introduced he said "no" immediately.

I have a dear friend who's done the DP twice and is doing it again for free this August. The first time it was free and her first trip to WDW. She liked it but felt obligated to order the most expensive meals. The second trip she paid for the DP and hated it. She didn't feel it was worth it. She couldn't blow off ADRs and change their plans. She also drove herself nuts trying to get the best value for each meal carefully selecting each restaurant. She vowed never to do the DP again. Well, free dining came along and she's doing it. But she's not stressing over it this time. She's also upset that it's been changed and the free dining plan does not include an appetizer with dinner or gratuities. It used to. She's going to try to swap the appetizer instead of the dessert.

The DP saves you about $500 for two adults for the week. I have dropped more than that on tours, spa treatments and other extras. I believe the DP is for those people who otherwise couldn't afford to go to WDW.

If my boys were a bit older, I would have taken them in Sept w/free dining by myself and done the budget trip. It would have cost me $1,500 for 5 days at the PO-FQ, tickets, food and air. I'm the WDW nut in the family, DH is the resort snob. DH however works and pays for the vacations, so he selects the resort. :rotfl: Heck, I'd sleep on Main St. if they'd let me!:rotfl2:

Now, the Deluxe DP sounds more for us! But DH is still not interested! :rotfl:

Channing: I got the Disney Visa for the same stupid reason! :rotfl2:

As soon as I receive it, I'm going to call and change my cc on file for my segway tour and wishes cruise to get the 20% discount.

I was just wondering if WDW offers anything else for Disney Visa Card holders besides the character meet and greet in Innovations (not sure if it's East or West). I know DL offers free stroller rental :thumbsup2 Might be handy next May! There's no list for this stuff, it's just word of mouth.

Do sweat the small stuff!!! Look at the big picture and realize how far you have come and just do the best you can to lose what you can (don't starve youself!! aka the Lindsay Lohan diet :rotfl2: )

Public service announcement**** Kristen and those others who might have a less than pure mind... please put down anything your drinking BEFORE reading the next 20 or so post*****

OK girls, I've got big news! DH said last night it would be nice to stay at the GF for our 10th anniversary! :cool1: It's a year and a half away but I want to plan it all now!

hooray!! We spent our 10th at the GF last summer! It was our first trip back to the GF since our honeymoon and now DH is hooked!! (ignore my trip to Pop in May when I say that ;) )

I picked RPC for our August trip because I am as stuck-up as they come and I thought it would be oh-so loverlee to be among my equals and away from the lowly commoners. :snooty: :snooty:

Linda

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :thumbsup2

Mandy and Kristin: I'll be hitting MK alone one EMH-AM, and I'll be mostly in Fantasyland. I'll be running to Dumbo the minute the rope drops, can I park my stroller anywhere near Dumbo or do I have to go ALL THE WAY to the stroller parking lot by Small World?

Mare

There is parking right there... that is usually where I leave my stroller during our entire tour of Fantasyland and stop back to get it on our way to Toontown...

Thats a tough one. I would look at where you want to eat and then call dining and see if you can get ressies. If you cant get any good places to eat I dont know if free dining is worth it.

What she said about even getting the ressies! When I just booked the May trip at 47 days out, I didn't pay for my trip until the booking lady made all my ADR's (wasn't about to pay for DDP if we couldn't eat anywhere!)

dang it, it looks like we are going to have to bail Mr. mike out of Disney jail :rotfl2:

He is going to laugh is tail off when he reads this!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have strictly for the 3 day advance warning on discount codes!!! They do offer some incentives for ponits. We were earning 5x rewards earlier this year which racked up an extra 100 points (the program max) besides our regular ones :thumbsup2

Oh!! Good one! I forgot about the discount on the tours. We've used it for that...if you have AAA I think the discount is the same though. I haven't ever stopped for the Epcot character thing.

Kristin
- where were you lately?? You could have saved me $20! I did tip. They were nice guys and I happened to have the cash.

Oh ya....poor Mr. MIke....I hope Mrs. Mike has the bond card with her.:goodvibes

Scam artists!! I can't believe they took it!! :rotfl:

DS had a play date right after preschool and I was running errands this am. My LOFT box came today and all my clothes fit great!! (even the petite shorts) That black and white sundress is the CUTEST!!! But to those who also liked it, be warned, it runs big!! I am a size 4 and I took it in an XS :faint:
