The earthquake woke my son up bright and early! I have to go shopping today to spend my gymbucks before they expire..... :scared1: I can't let that happen :) I am trying not to go too far overboard since we just got back from Disney and we went a little overboard there :rolleyes1 But it was all well worth it!

Kelly, enjoy your trip!

Wow! Hope there aren't any more!

We live on the SC coast so our danger is hurricanes! At least with a hurricane there is some warning and time to prepare and get out! But having been through a couple - they can be devastating. The clean up, repair, beach erosion is bad news!

We are actually right near a fault line too. We've had 1 or 2 earthquakes that I've felt, but we're supposedly due for a big one!:scared1: I try not to think about that!

If we get tornadoes, they usually are after a hurricane- nice double whammy. Tornadoes are scary!

I lived in Charleston heights for 4 years! We went through Hugo, the eye went right over our house!
That same year we moved to New Orleans where we get hit by hurricanes all the time! I went through both Andrew and Katrina (we evaced for both)!
Where abouts in SC are you?

Where is Channing?! I hope the earthquake didn't swallow her up :lmao:

I have visions of her and that big old pup of hers fighting for space under her bed:rotfl2:

I have the Tivo set! Can't wait, DH is not looking forward to new ways to spend more money at Disney.

I've spent the day paying all the bills for the next month and balanced two months worth of checks and debit receipts! My brain is fried!

I hope everyone is OK!! With the Pope being here it kind of got second billing on the news.:goodvibes

I have my Tivo ready to go, but I am probably going to watch it, if I ever finish this laundry!!!:laundy:

Mandy, sounds like your DH and mine would get along GREAT!!!

He rolled his eyes when I told him and was "thrilled" I will learn new ways to blow the family savings on this mother daughter trip :rotfl: :dance3:

I just saw that, Kelly - so incredibly sad for that family. It really surprises me that happened to them - I've actually used Sue Ellen in the past, and she seemed "on top of it".

Hi, GF Gals!

Sorry I've been MIA - been reading along when possible, but lots going on in that darn RL right now. I cannot WAIT to be at the GF in less than 2 weeks. I really need this vacation!

Hi and Bye!

The dog woke us up to the earthquake this am, but I was too groggy to understand what was going on until I heard it on the news

The wonderful white jolly roger shorts are from J. Crew, not the Loft. I am trying to get a pair of plain white ones from the Loft.

Kelly, congrats on the trip (even if it is work related!)

It is DH's bday on Tuesday so we are celebrating his birthday all weekend (he better return the favor when we get to WDW in December! :rotfl: ) so this is probably it for me.

Have a great Weekend!
Kristin

Hi, guys! (gals)...I'm still here!:rotfl:

I slept like a ROCK! No earthquake for me. I do remember the one from 1968. I was two but I remember it. Not what it felt like though, but more the adults kind of amazed and concerned etc. My big old pup sleeps like a rock, too...so we missed the whole darn thing.:confused3

I had to run this morning and take Jojo to the Dr. She has some funky ankle pain that just istn' going away and it's been over a month...she is very sportsy and has had to sit out due to pain so I figured it's gone on long enough and it's ont going to go away. She's fine....she has odd arches (isn't it always something:rotfl: ) and hopefully some supports and ibuprophen for a bit will help and she'll get past whatever is going on or it's on to an orthopoedic dr. I had to run other errands etc and then wanted to get a good walk in before it rains.

Mandy and Praline...When Lucy was born I was CRAZY about Gymboree (I had waited SIX YEARS for my girl!!!! I went psycho on the cute clothes, shoes, bows, ruffle socks).......I won't tell you how much I maxed out my platinum visa....I was totally addicted and crazed. :rotfl: :rotfl: It was fun, though!!!!!:rotfl: Then Jojo came along and they had UGLY colors and totally beatnick hippie style so I skipped it. Moved on to Gap and I have been a Gap junkie since....although now it's LImited Too. Gotta love having girls. :lovestruc :lovestruc

OH....I just read that thread. :sad2: I would think the concierge CMs could give them RPC access or something - and Oct is still a long way away (look at my ticker;) ) so hopefully something will open up for them. I wonder how long that thread will remain open.:rolleyes1

OHHHHH....Hey!! I have been awesome on my WW points! I am MOTIVATED because I am booking a July YC stay!:goodvibes :goodvibes I want to be thin and tan. And I will be. :thumbsup2 I am going to add another ticker.:rotfl:

Kelly, I know you'll have a blast.:goodvibes

Well, have a great weekend, all! I hope the weather gets better...it's looking ugly out my windows....very dark and gloomy.

Channing :)

I have lived in central FL all my life and as a kid hurricanes were like our snow days! We got off school and all we got was a little rain and a breeze! We never prepared for hurricane season because we were so far inland that we thought we were out of the danger zone. Then hurricane season 2004 came along and we had the eyes of Charley, Francis and Jeanne cross over my house. Our town has a ton of 100+ year old homes about 10 were destroyed. Also our town's nick name is the "City of Oaks" and we lost a 3rd of our oak trees and they did a lot of damage to houses by falling on them. The worst part is we were with out electricity and potable water for close to a month. We stayed with my grandmother and it was horrible :rotfl: The crappy thing about that season was the storms happened all in a 5 week period and by the time we got utilities back another storm was brewing. What Charley didn't destroy it weekend and the next two storms, although not as strong, were just as bad damage wise or worse because so many people had blue tarps for their roofs and the homes were further damaged by the driving wind and rain.

I have several friends that were students at New Orleans theological seminary and had to move home for about 9 months and went back to rebuild. They have such a heart fro the people of NOLA and could not stay away from their "home"! My grandparents lived in NOLA and attended the same seminary and were heart broken when Katrina and then the levees failed. :sad2:
