Mare - that is great. I am addicted to my ipod. I listen to so many Disney podcasts I lose track!!! It helps me thru the day when I am either doing my housework or walking etc. I don't hve the tv on much anymore during the day - I have my headphones on. :rotfl: :rotfl: I bought the cutest coolest thing for my ipod, too....an ijuke. It is about 24 inches tall jukebox with cool bubbles and lights. I love that , too. I wonder how did I make it for so long without my ipod!?!?! DH and DS have had them for yEAErs. I am so nontechie so I thought it was just above me. How wrong I was! Enjoy yours!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes Also, we went to Disneyland last March for the first time and LOVED it. Hoping to go back this January. It is wonderful. Maybe you could fly JetBlue with the roomier seating and the personal tvs?? It takes us about 4 hrs to fly to CA, so JB was nice and comfortable.

Linda
- thanks for the kind words. I have found out that you really have to be an advocate for your kids or their problems will just get swept under the rug and they'll be pushed through school.

The teacher called me & we had a nice talk. :thumbsup2 She is also surprised about the missing work and agrees it is so not like Lucy to have these assignments not turned in. At least that much. She is going to try and be more direct in how she gives the instructions re turning in work. She is a nice lady. :confused3 She doesn't know what went wrong, either, so she is going to make a point to be watchful of Lucy. It was a nice discussion.

I just turned in my Limited Too bucks....I had $350 of them. OMG.....I had this mega pile of clothes up on the counter and the girl said, I won't even tell you the total.:rotfl: :rotfl: She went thru and used all my cards and I gagged. Oh well. The clothes are CUTE and I even got MORE Limited TOO BONUS BUCKS!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: Half off next week, too. DH is going to kill me.:rotfl: :rotfl:

I have been so awesome....I had 2 points since I went wacko on the chocolate this morning. I knew I could be good.....I just wigged out! It happens.

Kristen!!!!
I was at my Target over here.....I saw the Bare M stuff there. THey have the basic kit w/DVD, the beyond basic kit, an eye kit, and then a couple newer things I have not seen anywhere before. The kits were all minimum of $50. They didn't sell anything loose. I didn't buy anything....I have so much - too much, and figured with going Friday - We're still going, right?!?!? I'd wind up buying more.;)

Are you all ready for the Bachelor??? He doesn't do anything for me. He's tall though. :rotfl: Other than that kinda blah.

How about that Rock of Love???? Amber definitely looks her full 37 yrs. Daisy looks dirty and trampy. Hmm.....wonder who he'll choose?:rotfl:

Kelly
- YAY!

Talk to ya later!
Channing :) Hey! Where'd my ticker go?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Monring all!!

Glad you had a nice talk with the teacher... hopefully it gets rectified soon and Lucy gets her A back!!!

I got an ipod nano for Christmas and I am so bad about using it. We have the attachent in the car (where it gets used the most) but I was thinking I need to load it up before the trip. Are the podcasts on itunes free?? What about the one here?? I need to research it. Our computer crashed in January and had to be rebuilt so I never reloaded the itunes stuff- I guess my library is gone and will need to be rebuilt (thus redoing my ipod as well  )

I keep forgetting to check my Target for the Bare M stuff, but I know the one on 72 has it... we are definitely still going on Friday!! Apparantly it is a MAKE-UNDER, where they emphasize prepping your skin before the makeup :confused3 Oh well, here's my chance to learn about Prime Time, I guess...

I have been watching the Bachelor this year... it is interesting... any of the girls who profess their love early this year seem to be getting the boot (I kind of respect him for that! :rotfl: How can you fall in love in a matter of 20 minutes of quality time over the course of a couple of weeks? :confused3 I bet he picks Shayne- he seems intrigued by her, her family, and her hard to get attitude seems to be working... DH LOVES HER!! )

I am looking forward to the Rock of Love finale this week :woohoo: Those 2 couldn't be any more different!! I hope he picks Ambre since Daisy is CRAZY!!! But he is no prize, so he'll probably pick her (like a moth to a flame...)

Speaking of Pete and the stroller rant :scared1: I am stunned by that increase! We would never rent one (no matter what the price) but that it steep!!

Kristin

To multiquote, go to the bottom of the specific message that you want to include in the multiquote, and hit the button immediatly to the right of the button that says QUOTE. The button that you should hit is the one that looks like a tiny document with quotation marks (") in the upper right hand corner and a plus sign (+) in the lower right hand corner. This button will turn red when you hit it. Hit this button on each message that you want to quote. When you get to the final message that you wish to quote, hit the button that says QUOTE instead of the smaller button. You will then be taken to the screen where you can compose messages. :) . These messages will all be quoted seperatly (but in the same message), so you can easily insert any text you desire between them without breaking up the quiotes!

You can easily copy and paste in two different ways. The first way is to hold down your left mouse button and drag it across the text that you wish to copy. If this is done correctly, the text will be highlighted. Then, you can hit CTRL and C at the same time. Next, go to the screen that you wish to copy the text onto and hit CTRL and V at the same time.

The second way to copy and paste is to again drag your mouse over the text you wish to copy while holding down the left mouse button, highlighting this text. Then, release the left mouse button and move your mouse pointer to somewhere WITHIN the highlighted text (this will not work is the pointer is not on a highlighted area). With the pointer over the highlighted area, click your right mouse button. A small menu will appear. Choose "COPY". Next, go to the screen that you wish to copy the text onto. Place your mouse pointer where you would like the text to appear. Hit the right mouse button again and a small menu will appear. Choose "PASTE".

HTH

THAT IS SO COOL!! THANKS AMY!!! I always wondered how to do this, too!! I am glad somebody asked & somebody ANSWERED!!!!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Morning Ladies! I fell off the diet wagon big time yesterday, cake, candy, and more cake...... UGH! I just finished my healthy mushy oatmeal and I am determined to be a good girl today! By the way the Podcast board has started a support group for dieters called Wonders!

Great Pete Rant today about the increase in stroller rentals! Gotta love his rants!

COOL!! I will listen to it while I walk!!! My neighbor is subbing today! shh....sometimes I actually look forward to her subbing so I can listen to Disney Podcasts while I walk instead of walking and talking.;)

OK, I am going to look for DL pics I have loaded on the computer. I can't tell ya...we had SO MUCH FUN that trip. I think either 7 to 10 days is good. My family only took one day to do the CA park, but we didn't do much and that day I left with my friend, Heidi, and we looked around DTD....there was so much we didn't see. :upsidedow The kids wanted pool time daily, so they did that and that is a chunk of time. The Wishes they show at DL is unbelievable.....honestly it blows the WDW WIshes out of the water. You will not believe the DL version. It is awe inspiring. AND Tink flies all around the castle during the fireworks!!!! She circles it! It is just gorgeous. They take music from all the neat retro rides and include taht in the show. The narration is just wonderful. I didn't have a camera that will take good night fireworks shots back then so I don't have pics, but as much as I love the WDW version, DL is 100X better.

OK,,,,just back from the staffing for DD8. Jojo has a reading disability - which I knew - and she is going to get mega help. YAY- So it's all good.:thumbsup2 The bad thing is I totally thought it was tomorrow!!!!! At 8:07 I get a call from the school and I was standing in my PJs!!!!! Jojo was fininshing bfast!!!!! We made it by 8:30 but I feel like such a dork. I have never done that before. Oh well...always a first time. :rotfl: I am sure it won't be the last.

From my conversation with Lucy's teacher she agrees it's not like Lucy to not turn work in and she doesn't know where the breakdown occurred......I really think something is still off, but what can I do at this point? I have to let it go. At least she knows I am on to the situation.

Mare, the DLH has DTD views or courtyard views. We had a courtyard view and I know it's right in the city but we didn't feel like it was. We left our building, walked past the pool, past a giant Sorcerer hat and then thru DTD to get to the gates of DL on the left, and CA Park on the right. I can't imagine the GCH rooms are as tiny as 250 sq feet but that is what the CM told me.....I even said "Are you SURE?".....None of those hotels thrill me, but I went for the nostalgia of the DLH and I guess I would do it again. I used the DL board on the DIS for info. They are super nice over there.....unlike some snarky people on the WDW boards. Ask anything and you'll get it answered. I bought the Unnofficial Guide to DL.....Hey, here's something your DH might like - MINE really wanted to do this and then we found out it had been cancelled, but I think it's been brought back - Segway rides/tours around CA Park!!! Check into that. DH and DS have done the Segway Tours at Epcot and WL....they are great. They try and do it every time we go now.

Vanessa, good luck with your DD!!!! I hope today does go well.:goodvibes Also good luck on the WW....I am jumping back on today, too.....I am a highjacker to it (neighbor got me the info) so I don't have ideas....I did buy the WW cookbook & it has some nice recipes. Also the Dining w/the Duchess does, too...and some inspirational readings, too. I loaned it to my neighbor...need to get it back. ;)

Let me find DL pics!!!!!

Channing :)

Kristin, we posted at about the same time.....

I use my Ipod in the car too. (but then I don't pay attention to what I should be doing...talking on my cell phone...NO, haha...just kidding) My new car came with the little thingy that makes it super easy. Otherwise.....:rotfl: YES!! There are GOBS of WDW podcasts on Itunes FREE!!!! TONS. You won't be able to keep up. They are mostly weekly and I have about 10 I enjoy...maybe more.

OK....so you should probably PM me some of this ulta info.....make under?!?!?! They told me to come with a "bare face"!!!! That could be scary. I don't like to go anywhere BARE! Are you?? I don't want to be the only creepy person showing up at a makeup demo looking like an ugly loser. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Kristin

I'd love to hear what you hear about prepping the skin. I have prime time and love how it feels but I am confused on whether I should us before or after moisturizer or as a moisterizer? :confused3

Our local Ulta is having a Bare Mineral event with people from the company. Channing and I are checking it out Friday AM. I promise to report back!!

Channing- I am PMing you about the details!

We are just starting to plan a DL trip for next summer and after a lot of thought and reading reviews, we finally decided on the GCH- just is the best fit for our family.
We are going back and forth about Concierge though! This is our first trip to DL so I know we'll be in the parks a lot! One of the reasons we stay RPC at the GF so much is because we spend a lot of time at the resort, in the lounge, eating the food, etc! Just don't know if paying the extra for Concierge will be worth it!?!:confused3

I didn't think so. Also, I don't think there is a club "floor" like with WDW....I think anybody can ADD concierge on even when they check in. There were some funky things with the DL concierge that kind of didn't sit well with me....also, no IPO or any type of thing like that. NOthing at all like the WDW concierge so it's more just free food.:rotfl: We were at the parks ALL DAY everyday except during swim time. I wouldn't book the DL concierge for us even when we go back....ALSO, I think all their hotels have the automatic turndown service. We did very night...I don't think we had to request it, but maybe i did. At least we wound up with it!!

Here's some room pics....something important....our room did not have a balcony. There were sliders and a FAKE balcony. I think that's how all the DLH rooms are - but I am not 100% positive. That's a question for the DL Boards.

Desk near entryway and it's right across from the bathroom which I totally took zero pics of. Think white tile, white tub, white sink, exposed pipes....cute Mickey hand lamps....otherwise kind of bleh and ugly.

Sofa daybed....

Clowning around....

IMGP6124.jpg

A young Price is Right girl.......

IMGP6122.jpg

And we'd walk out under this hat to get to DTD every day....

IMGP6133.jpg

Our view....I went from booking a $750/nt concierge GCH room to a cheapy $250/nt standard & I was FINE with it. :goodvibes I would have had BIG regrets if I would have kept that expensive tight room.

I wish I had taken more pics of the grounds and the other things about the DLH....what was I thinking? :confused3 DLH is pretty but it doesn't feel luxurious IMO so if you want luxury, I have heard you'll definitely find it at the GCH....just not if you have to sleep in their sleeping bag on the floor. The rooms must be super tight over there if they don't even have room for rollaways & do the "theme" of sleeping bags instead.:rotfl:

I'd like some thoughts from the experts, if you don't mind ...

We are currently booked for GF RPC, August 23-31. Now that the free dining offer is out, should we try to grab that instead and book a non-concierge MK view room at GF (if available)?

My thoughts -- I booked GF because of the location. I booked RPC because it's in the main building (convenience and aesthetics) and for the munchies available throughout the day. We'll most likely tour the parks every morning, and then return to the hotel to relax / swim each afternoon. We'll then return to the parks in the evenings. So we will be spending quite a considerable amount of time at the resort.

We are not big eaters. DH does have a healthy appetite, but my girls and myself -- well, we can eat and love to eat, but we certainly don't eat that much. I've heard that with the dining plan, too much food may be available and we may end up not using some of our points.

However, I am looking to book at least three character meals for my girls.

Also, I am worried with the free dining plan promotion, the restaurants will be packed. And if we stay in RPC, we won't have to deal with packed restaurants for most of our meals.

I also want to RELAX on my vacations. And I just feel that if I have to stick to a schedule of ADRs each and every day and plan everything around them, that takes out a lot of the fun. And if we don't use them, I feel like I've "wasted" them.

But, we could save around $700 if we book a regular MK room at GF with free dining, vs. RPC.

Any thoughts?

Linda

Channing your DL pics are making me want to go so bad! I wish I had not already committed to some renovations or I would be using my "spending money" from the President to book a trip out there! I think this WDW family would have such a good time at DL even in the DLR gv rooms! It would be all so new to us, we are so familiar with WDW that my 5 yo can navigate the parks!

I just threw away the rest of the cake! I couldn't take it any longer, it was calling my name so it had to go! I did have one last taste of the icing!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks for the info! I thought I read that the 6th floor was concierge but mabye not!?!:confused3
I guess no IPO since there aren't as many restaurants? Ya, I just don't know if Concierge is worth it - need more research!:)

Mandy! I am such a sucker for cake....I have to force myself to do that same thing...just chuck it!! Good for you!!!:goodvibes You did the right thing!

Yes, DL is sooo neat. It's like WDW only different. It's SO CLEAN & the CMs are so wonderful. They're closer to the magic I think.

I will post more later.....it was just beautiful and weatherwise too.

Channing :)

You might be right about that floor.. I do know I read that people can add concierge on at check in for $125 or so/night...I thought that was strange......there were just so many little things that left me feeling ripped off for my dumb $750/nt room. It might have even cost mor than that due to it being in March, but it seemed the more info I got the more I felt I'd be let down with keeping that room.

The DIS DIsneyland Boards are really nice & really nice Dissers over there.

Happy Tuesday!

For all those contemplating a DL trip (and the DLH), here are some pics I posted on the Resort Rooms thread - these were from Jan. '06:

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=13721608&postcount=506

We were really happy with our decision to do the DLH over the GCH. I've also heard good things about a lot of the off-site hotels nearby - the Hilton and Marriott specifically. "On site" is not nearly as important at DL as it is at WDW.

I have other pics at home - I'll try to upload some soon.

Mandy - I was told to use the PrimeTime on my skin right before applying the foundation (although allow it time to sink in). I do my regular moisturizer, a bit of the Skin Rev-ver Up-per, and then PT.

Linda - to free dining, or not to free dining, is such a personal question, I think, for each family. It really depends on what it would "save" your family, how it jives with your vacation plans, etc. $700 is a pretty significant savings - would you use that $$ to do something else fun? If so, you might weigh what "that" would be, vs. the lounge and staff at RPC. The GF is great, no matter where you stay. Many would also advise not to count on the food offerings in RPC to take the place of proper meals - we did fine with it for breakfast and snacks in Dec. I did tell my DH that if we were going at a really hot time (like Sept.) when the heat just zaps my appetite, there would likely be times that enough of their food offerings in the evening could have been my dinner. Whatever you decide - don't neglect to make reservations where you want to eat, dining plan or not. Particularly during the free dining times, you've got to have ADR's, so don't leave that part up to chance. Good luck!

Channing - glad to hear the meetings/phone call with the girls' teachers went well.

Good luck to all those climbing back on the WW wagon today! :wizard:

Got to run - have to go fly to Austin for work - yuck. Have good days!

Oh - meant to add...

AllEars has DL info. - there wasn't much when we went, but I hear they've beefed it up considerably over the last couple of years. Also, Passporter now has a DL/Southern CA guidebook - I'd definitely get a copy of that. I also used the Underground Guide for DL, but didn't find it nearly as helpful as the WDW one. The Birnbaum's DL guide isn't half bad, either.

And I love my iPod, and love all those Disney podcasts! My problem is I can't always keep up with them, even with my daily commutes. I think I have about 300 that I haven't listened to yet, loaded on my iPod. Would love to hear which ones everyone else likes. :goodvibes

Okay, really leaving now - BYE!

I'll have to check on the "add concierge" option...

Thanks for the DL pics! The DLH rooms look really nice, too!
Sleeping Beauty Castle looks so .. small ! Beautiful, but small! I guess when you compare it to Cindy's Castle it is smaller. HM looks so different at DL!
