Mare~ completely understand the man thing...

Why is it they want the price tag of a cheap Disney but when you start telling them about NOT having monorail... not having the bigger room... not having the nicer pool... more crowded... well then they admit they would hate it... BUT and this is the REAL clincher and ticks me off....

"Its all my WIFE'S fault we spent so much on our Disney trip :rotfl2: If I were planning it, we would go for under 2 grand but she is a princess and HAS TO HAVE THE BEST" :rolleyes1

We are trying to book the Illuminations cruise for our August trip. I hear that is nice in that you are pretty close to the action. We'll try that and see.

Illuminations books faster than the Wishes. Illuminations was my first choice and it was sold out every night of our 9 night vacation. Wishes was available almost every night. If you have your heart set on Illuminations, book early. I'm guessing that 6:58 am phone call is required :rotfl2:

I've heard Fantasmic can be overwhelming for some young children (5 or younger) due to loud noises and the "good vs. evil" storyline can get quite intense. Then again, I've also heard nothing but great reviews about the show. We're going to see it for the first time this August as well.

DS4 has seen the show once when he was 2 and the theme went right over his head. He wasn't scared one bit. He was into seeing the character and that amazing water/image show. It's also not nearly as loud as fireworks. Epcot fireworks being the loudest then MK.

As for Cirque -- I've never seen the show in Orlando, but I presume they are all similar. We took our daughters, ages 8 and 5, to Mystere in Las Vegas last Christmas and they both LOVED it. In fact, our 5-year-old was completely entranced by the whole show and would burst into spontaneous applause at various times. My 8-year-old is the Question Queen, and since Cirque shows are unique and with weird story lines, she kept asking what was going on and what was that character doing and who was that person and what did that mean and blah blah blah. But she still enjoyed it thoroughly. I would safely assume that the Cirque show in Orlando is very kid friendly.
Linda

La Nouba is very kid friendly nothing like Vegas Cirque. We've seen Mystere and O in Vegas (not the boys - we went before kids) and it's nothing like that. It's more "Big Apple Circus". Like a small circus with one tent kinda show. Intimate, but exciting.

And my reply always is

"Because I married my Prince who makes all my dreams come true":rotfl2:

Thanks, ladies! I sent an email to the female instructor. Hopefully, she will still be available for Saturday morning lessons this summer.

I really appreciate everyone's thoughts / comments! Thanks again!

So, Mare, would you recommend seeing La Nouba after having seen Mystere? And just a few months ago as well? I really wanted to see O in Vegas as well, but that was sold out the entire week we were there. I had to get the Venetian concierge to get those tix for Mystere as well - had no idea those shows were so popular. But it was definitely worth it!

Linda

Morning everyone. (well, it was morning when I started reading all your posts from over the weekend!):rotfl:

Lesly: Welcome:flower3: I'll be at the GF June 12-21. We're doing our first Wishes cruise this trip, I'm hoping my boys will stay awake for it! The cruises are late, 10pm for MK and 9pm for Epcot. Fantasmic usually has two shows in the summer the early one either 5pm or 7pm - I can't remember? If you're kids go to sleep early, I'd go with the Fantasmic early show. I can get my boys to nap late and keep them up a little later. La Nouba we did before the kids, we loved it. I would wait until my boys were older, they do love the circus, but we can all go to the circus here at Madison Square Garden for the price of 2 La Nouba tickets!:rotfl: I'm just waiting until they really can enjoy it as a "special circus". And appreciate it's hefty price tag.

Thanks for the info! Cirque is included in our Magic Your Way Platinum package so I thought we'd take DS 8 b/c his ticket is already paid for. I definitely won't be taking the two younger ones. As for the fireworks cruise, I'll have my guys take a late nap that day so they can attempt to stay up!

Where in NY are you from? We are in NY too.

Hey Linda, hope you dont mind if I put in my 2 cents?? I am kind of a Cirque freak :clown: and have seen every show out there....La Nouba was really good at WDW, but I feel like my first show, Mystere, was the best. Maybe cause it was my first??? We show O a couple of years ago, and I thought it was okay, not great as hyped. But then again I just saw Celine Dion in concert the night before and was the BEST show I have ever seen :lovestruc
If you have the time and money, go see La Nouba I thought it was great! :upsidedow

Hello, Hello, Hello!!

Ok! one more day down, got my cabana:thumbsup2 I am actually starting to get the same people. They feel so bad that I am still calling, I don't care as long as they say they have one for me!!

Kristin - Cute Dresses!! I am not huge dress fan, my DD wants me to wear them all the time. I think I am too tall!!

Brook - What the heck is going on over there??? :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Leslie - Welcome!! I am not sure because I has so much to read, but I thought you asked about Fantasmic. We love it, but I will tell you my DDs first time seeing it, I had to leave with her. We say real close the front and she got scared. My DH taped the show and she watch it home and was disappointed she left, the next year it was the first thing she wanted to do.

Mare - my DHs comment is exactly the same, and he too just follows me!!:rotfl: :rotfl:
The make fun of all my planning, but when we get there who do they look to???:cool1:

I dont know much :rotfl2:

All I know is I was trying to post on a B rated sci fi movie quote thread cause I was bored and MAN O MAN did someone go off on me :rotfl2:

I know my taste in movies might be offensive to some but sheesh :rotfl:

I then was told that a poster thought one of my answers was a read between the lines kind of post .... and she went off on me... you know how Attack of the Killer tomatoes can be :rolleyes1

They reported me because of my Attack of the killer tomatoe post and asked me to be banned :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I didn't get banned or anything but sheesh that is going overboard with the drama :rotfl2:

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate clowns. I don't like ciruses....even worse than I hate clowns, I HATE MIMES.

I don't like clowns... I don't go to the circus. My kids may need therapy because of this fact :rolleyes1

:sad2: Mine hate circuses & clowns as much as I do. We got such a mega kick out of watching the Sam Brown's favorite Disney things.....at the end of the La Nouba section they looked like the blew some acrobat up because the next thing they showed an dit was on the screen in the same place, was the Wishes fireworks....Lucy just about peed her pants watching that....it was DVRed so we rewatched it.:rotfl2: We're bad.:rotfl:

Okay, this Weight Watcher is craving cake now... EVERY cake...

Hi everyone! I am new to these boards. Brook was kind enough to respond to another post of mine and direct me over here. My name is Lesley and I am married with three boys (ages 8, 2.75, and 18 mo). My husband and I have been to Disney before when we lived in Orlando (before kids) but this will be the kids first time there. We are going in June and staying at the Grand Floridian for 7 nights. We are staying in a Grand Suite. This is all new to me since we have never stayed on property but I am trying to get as much info as I can on the Grand Floridian and their Grand Suites in particular. If anyone has any info on it, I would love to hear it. Pictures would be great too! I started reading the all ab out the GF thread but am only on page 5 or so! I don't know if I'll be able to get through it by June! LOL!

Anyway I look forward to chatting with you all!

Hi Lesley. I'm so jealous of your trip! I hope you have a great time.

I got the cabana day 2!!! I woke with my alarm clock and this time the girl was aware of her ability to book cabanas!!!!

Anyway, Disney on a Dime to me was terrible. I am so tired of see the AK or the AKL!!! Sorry, my family and I just don't go there, the trip is too long from the GF and we are not total animal lovers. Although there are few good rides, we decided its just not worth trip by bus or cab!! Sorry if anyone doesn't feel that way just our opinion.

On to the positive, I just love seeing WDW!!! It got me so excited!!! I can't wait to go. At least now DH will stop making fun of me and commercial. You can go for $1,600 for 3 nights and at a value hotel.

I was also interested to see what Fort Wilderness looked like, when we used to stay at WL we used to share a boat ride to MK with that resort and you can't see anything through the trees.

Looking forward to next Friday!!! Love the Disney specials even if there is nothing to learn!!:thumbsup2

I'm so glad you are able to get Cabana's for the other days. Will they put you on a wait list for the first day you weren't able to get?

I actually special order my chocolate. There is a wonderful company in spain (I dont order it from spain, its imported) called Valor and they make the BEST DANG chocolate EVER...and its sugar free :cheer2: my fav is the dark chocolate with almonds! I swear I am like Charlie and the chocolate factory with it... 1 bite a day :rotfl:
It cost a bit more than regular chocolate but when it comes down to
kill the kids... eat chocolate... kill the kids or eat chocolate it sure is cheaper than bail

You really crack me up...:rotfl:

Oh yeah everything fit great. The thing is I used 2 different seamstresses and its comparing apples to oranges I guess... the dresses I have pic'ed with savannah wearing are made by 1 lady and the other dresses were made by Janet. (no relation to .... well janet jackson hehe)

Anywho... Janet is a much better dressmaker!!! You should see how well these dresses are made! The seams are perfect... great facing job.... double lines with very heavy fabric... none of that cheap walmart material!!! She is the one that makes those pricey costumes.... she did a FANTASTIC job BUT is really slow on the whole making them and shipping so if you plan to use her... no last minute ordering!

The other dresses are CUTE but aren't as well made... if that makes sense?

I love the flips! I am a little worried about the toe thingy giving her a blister ... I am going to have to yank out that mole for the trip... I just know it

Cute dresses and flips! I would be totally broke if I had girls instead of two boys.

Good afternoon ladies, i'm posting from my sisters house and I have to thank you all for the nice words about my hair

So I didn't panick and just got up extra early so I would have plenty if time to see how it was drying and it turned out to be the cuteset cut I have had! You were all right! Thanks for listening to my whining, I think it as the fact that she comb my hair out and didn't use much product so my hair was huge and frizzy.
~Mandy

I'm so glad you like it. Hair cuts are very traumatic, aren't they? I've had the same style for years, but I just can't get myself to update my do. I can do it so quickly, and 5 a.m. is early enough. If I got a new do, I can only imagine how early I'd have to get up. I love the way my hairstylist does my hair, but I can't get even close to the way she does it. I'm hairstyling impaired...

Hooray!! A Morning just for Mommy!!!

DS is at preschool through lunch time, DH left fot TX this AM for work, I can grab some coffee and catch up! :surfweb:

I placed a big order with the Loft yesterday. I ordered this dress to wear to a wedding Mother's Day weekend

219132_6600.jpg

It was 25% off yesterday and I had another 25% off so long as I spent $150 so I ended up getting it for $49!!!! I ordered those white shorts in a petite but I hope my order comes this week. If I don't like the shirts, J Crew has a pair I can order, but I need them before the trip!!! (16 days )

I need to call the cake hotline today and leave a message at Pop for that cake...I should probably do that before DS gets home from school

Kristin

Cute dresses -- I love them. I can't wear any of the latest styles, as my 36DD look like they are spilling out if I get the right size for my waist...

Good morning everyone!

Cute dresses Kristin~ I wish I was still young enough to wear those :worship: gravity is not a kind friend

I hope everyone has a great day! I need to run to walmart and start knocking off a few things I need for our trip.

I am a little bit miffed.... I wasn't planning a big birthday party for Savannah as we were going to be doing Disney for her birthday. Well she shares the same birthday DATE as my adopted niece. My SIL called me and told me she wanted to suprise Savannah by having Gabi at her birthday party :scared1: hmmmm I wasn't planning a "party" :rotfl:
SO NOW not only do I have to plan 1 party... I have to plan 1 party for 2 GIRLS... include my SIL family and all of our friends who are going to want to share in this special occasion of having my newly adopted niece and Savannah's birthday together
Wasn't that so sweet of my SIL to think of Savannah?

Anyway... I called and whined to mommy :rotfl2:
So the party is going to be at the ranch, horse/western themed and the kids can do pony rides and play on the farm haha I ordered the horse themed stuff from birthday express. I also got the horseshoe cake pan as it looks pretty easy to make a horseshoe cake :rotfl:
The week before we leave for Disney Savannah will be having a big party and my brother and SIL (who live in Fl right near Disney) will be visiting here with us :rotfl2:
Does that all make sense? It sure doesn't to me :rotfl2:

It sounds like you'll have a great party, even though you hadn't planned on doing one. The pictures you posted of the ranch look beautiful!

kristin - cute dresses.:goodvibes I love the pre trip shopping!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes That's a good part of the vacation fun.:thumbsup2

Dawn - ya, I guess the letter is what has people up in arms.:rotfl: :confused3 People are so weird and opinionated. Whatever......It makes for some laughs. I don't think I am going to bother with Juno. Too many other things out there I want to see....we own Enchanted....My girls love that movie. They were thrilled we managed to see Giselle on her last day of riding thru the MK.:)

Mandy I am glad it's working out for you. How funny that people feel the compulsion to give they opinions on the way you look!!! I guess they mean well, but sometimes they probably put their feet in their mouths.....

Marci
- so what did you think of DL??? Did you get the chance to go on any rides??? Hope it was a nice trip - even though it was business.:)

Yes -- I did have a great time. DL was so crowded, and because it's more compact, it seemed that lines for things were everywhere! I did like HM better, as well as POC. The Nemo ride was just okay. No FP and I had to wait in line an hour as it had broken down and by the time I got back the line had filled quickly.

I like the GF better than the GCH, but there were some things I really liked about GCH. They even sent me a postcard thanking me for my business with staff signatures. I don't think they've ever done that at the GF. But a postcard won't sway me to the dark side...

The chef's table at Napa Rose was fabulous! It was certainly a good thing I didn't drive after the wine pairings...

I can't wait to take my family to DL, as they've never been, but WDW is still my first love. Channing -- I agree with you -- I discounted DL too much and ended up enjoying it.

Wow -- you guys were so chatty. We had a baseball game Friday night, a soccer game Saturday morning, then my youngest and I hit the road to Waco, Texas, as that's where my oldest and my husband were. We stayed at a hotel overnight, then woke up to thunderstorms so the tournament was called. We did get back early, even though we stopped at the outlet mall, so that was a nice perk. And, it looks like the team will get first place, as we won both our games on Saturday.

Have a great day everyone!

Have a good day everyone!
